This Video is no rarity at all. The song's original title is "Rückstossgondoliere" and was originally released on DVD "Beat Club - The Best of '71" by Radio Bremen in 1997. Since then, there were many re-releases on DVDs themed on Krautrock. What makes this special is, that this is an official release. The original duration time of this beautiful video/song is 11:23 minutes. That video here is an edit.
@laromande: The guitarist is Michael Rother and he left Kraftwerk in 1972 I think. In fact, Autobahn was recorded 1974 and Michael Rother and the drummer Klaus Dinger wasn't in the Band anymore.

@thedarkarse It's not a bad thing, Fairport are a great band! I was kinda shocked to hear this as well, have never listened to any of their really really early stuff
Yeah but....beardy folkie, 'trad' pipe-and-slippers music on the one hand and futuristic, experimental robotic 'kraut' music on the other hand & never the twain shall meet.
Well there goes THAT theory anyway..guess there's no hard cut off point between 1 category of music & another.
Outstanding!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! No other way to describe it! This decade was when music was music.......................... These guys were innovators... did their own thing... unique had their own style.... classic stuff right here!
the distorted & synthetic clarinet is great

The guitarist and the drummer went on to form Neu! and their three albums revolutionised rock music, or so I think.
