@Chalkaspis you aren't that far from the truth if you consider that North Korean TKD fighters were bodyguards for Kim Jon Il who was preoccupied with security, hence the strolling and tradition. I had a chance to meet a 7 degree dan black belt master from North Korea - the guy was as though as a coffin nail!
I wonder if sine wave movement really applies to magnify striking power in real contact scenarios... cause it's unique to ITF and no other martial art has it.
@RicardoKooh Nice point. Actually wave movements are not a Unique to ITF, Gal Choi studied this movements perfectly, but he isn't the only one, Kung Fu is based in Wave movements too,and so Jet Kune Doo. Of course new martial arts are based on old ones, and at some point they are better (like wave movements on Taekwondo are strongest and cleanest than Kung Fu ones). Bruce Lee has studied Wave movements too when he has studied Taekwondo to complete his fighting skills, and that is one of the...
@RicardoKooh ....reasons that Jet Kune Doo have adopted that too. But it would be awesome if u could read the Book: The Tao of Jet Kune Do, by Lee. He teach you when u should use, when u not. It's really awesome, u will see martial arts with other eyes, and do martial arts with other eyes.
Sorry for my bad english. Cheers for a 1st Dan ITF Brazilian guy!
@vcdubugras Thanks for this information. I am korean born mexican grown. And as a korean, I was exposed very early to WTF. Now I am 2nd Dan in WHF Hapkido, also have studied other TMA and BJJ. And I had always wondered about ITF. Recently, I read "A Killing Art, the untold history of Tae Kwon Do" by Alex Gillis. It has many surprising information, mainly about the true founder of Tae Kwon Do: General Choi Hong Hi. Best regards.

Secondo me si dovrebbe insegnare davvero l'uso delle parate, non solo nelle dimostrazioni.
Nelle palestre di TKD non mettono avversario davanti a far finta di dare un pugno per insegnare o comunque a combattere fuori dallo sport.
