Affliction Warlock Dps rotation guide 4.2

@ICanHazCOD yeah, affli shines when combined with the buffs and debuffs other classes provide, obviously a dummy will skew the numbers down

If you are wondering why his DPS is low it is because Affliction Locks talents are setup in a way that makes us do more damage to an actual boss instead of a dummy. I am not saying I am good, but I pull like 14-15k on a Raid dummy and pull about 20-21k on a actual boss.

@sumSOTY as an affliction lock your DPS isnt gonna be good because of the way the class talents are set up. 11-12k on dummy for an Aff lock isn't too bad.

@videoviewer0988 Aff locks do not do good DPS on dummys because the way our talents are setup i pull like 21k in a raid but only like 14k on a dummy.

why not use fel flame to refresh unstable affliction? It is instant cast and does a some dps too.

@WorkForce88 cause fel flame has a travel time, and it dosent refresh UA's 100% duration, only increase the duration by 6 secs = ( dps loss ), but UA has about 1.2 cast ( glyphed ofcourse ) and no travel time, thats what we need :p, you can always cast fel flame when you really have to move, if your mana is good and you dont have to cast life tap

One thing you could add in is that when soul swapping if its on a boss like valiona and theralion it is actually a dps increase to keep up 3 stacks of shadow embrace on the target you are soul swapping to

Couple of questions:

Which does more DPS - Bane of Doom or Bane of Agony? I always use Bane of Agony, but then my DPS tends to suck :S.

Also, why do you recast Unstable Affliction when it's faster to just use Fel Flame to reset the duration?

And finally, is felhunter actually better for DPS, because I only use it atm if there's a lot of casters.

Sorry if the answers are obvious, but it seems I can't rely on what I think works when it comes to DPS. Anyway, thanks for the video ^^.

@Kirbytroid For Single target fights Bane of Doom does more dmg. Plus its has a chance to summon imp which is also good. With regards to recasting UA to refresh instead of Fel Flame. Spreadsheets have show that just recasting it is more of a dps increase. Fel Flame should only be used to refresh UA if you are moving around to avoid some fire, etc. Yes for affliction Felhunter is your best pet. gl !

@Kirbytroid Fel flame only refreshes 6 seconds and causes a 1second GCD. Casting it is a little over 1.4seconds maybe. (The GCD is in there) and it last 18 seconds. That's so much time saved doing other things.

Bane of Doom is ALOT better than Bane of agony on longer fights ;)

Fel flame,should ONLY be used in 2 cases:

1. If u are moving,and dont have to refresh corruption

2. If the 4 set bonus from the t11 gear procs.

This is,because if u wanna use fel flame to refresh UA to max,it will end in a DPS decrease as it does low dmg,its instant cast. So the GCD is gonna fck u up comletely :)

And yes,after(i think) 4.1 the felhunter is now better than succubus for affli again :)

If you practice more.. you won't clip your dots hence making your dps higher
