  • Beautiful. I've stumbled upon this video by accident somehow and have been listening to it non-stop for a few hours now it seems...

I admire you and your wonderful talent, masha'Allah.

  • Hey .. that was a wonderfull performance. I thought i am the only UAE national who learned Piano professionally , hehehe :)

You were doing a great job mate. I have graduated ages ago from Ayr College (Scotland) with Master in Music, but honestly you can beat me so simply as my finger joints are gettin arthritis :(

Just keep the good work up .. Best of luck

  • Dear lolosmall, I am equally happy to discover another UAE national who plays the piano, and I must say that I am much flattered by your complement, I am far, far from being a professional pianist, as the plethora of professional performers on Youtube can attest.

  • Faris Al Mazrui,

i enjoyed listening to this piece, you play beautifully!

    Vasili

  • I played the Arabesque years ago for a recital.

I think you played it better than I did. :) You play beautifully.

  • yamil yamil! allah ieba´atlak el jer.

  • are you a piano performance major?

  • No, I was an Econ major and took piano lessons on the side :)

  • sheer brilliance Faris! keep it going boy!

  • positively sublime!

  • I thought Piano is banned in Arabia, isn't it forbidden?

  • The piano is not forbidden in Arabia. More generally, music is not forbidden either. It has been a part of the Arabian culture since before Islam; and it has thrived throughout the Islamic civilizations up to now (as evident by Arabian folk tunes and legions of modern Arab musicians). Islam does not prohibit music; extremists do. I find such views to be both an embarrassment to Islam and an offense to God's wonderful creation of our world. What sense lies in banning that which is good?

  • i very like the first one! i cant find any information about "1. Dawn in Hafeet Cynthia Lawing (b. 1948)" :( is there any other name??

  • Hi ArdieM

Thank you for your comment :)

"Dawn in Hafeet" is a piece composed by my piano teacher Mrs. Cynthia Lawing who actually plays a duet with me in part 5 of the recital. I have a pdf file of the sheet music for "Dawn in Hafeet" if you would like me to send it to you.

    Faris
