Y'know, I've kind of been trying to watch Letterman recently, and granted, he's better than the Chin, but he's just not that funny. The problem with that creatively though, is that he doesn't need, or seemingly want, to try anymore. It means that he will continue to do the same thing with progressively less success until he retires. You will never see anything fresh on his show. Which is fine- he has no obligation to step down and what he provides consistently and familiarly is what a lot of want to watch

On a personal level, I also find him generally more charming and funnier than the other guys.
