I find this story pretty creepy. Maybe it's just my maternal instinct. it's strange but I could actually see this happening, maybe if the mom was suffering from some kind of postpartum psychosis or something. Stranger things have happened, like the mother who confused her baby with a milk bottle and put her child in the microwave. :/ Very scary.

Well it says that the toy babies cried when the real baby was born so the toy was prgrammed to time how much attention or active use they got and it decreassed when the mother divided the attenttian with the real baby. It also mentioned that the beatings increased so shes must have been attacking the fake one then smashed the real one against the wall at another time thinking it was the fake one. When cops arrived the mother did not understand despite the blood so she could have went crazy.

The mothers killed their own babies instead of the dolls by mistake. That's why they were holding "baby-shaped bundles" when the police arrived.  At least, that's how I interpretted it. I could always be wrong...

Yeah, it could've been through a possible preference, or even insanity. Perhaps it was both. The crying of the real babies may have driven the mothers crazy, creating a subconscious preference for the dolls that manifested itself in a fury that the mothers had little to no control over. Subconsciously, they equated "doll" with "my baby" and "actual baby" with "fucking annoyance that needs to stop."

True. Normally, in this story, the word "realistic" is in quotation marks, which implies that the dolls aren't all that realistic.

I suppose I should change my interpretation to "the crying real baby made mommy go insane, and she went so crazy that she got the real baby and the toy baby mixed up." I still like my idea of a subconscious preference, though.

@MrNobody47710 I don't think a crying baby would be enough to make her go insane. But there is such a thing as post partem depression. (I'm not sure how it's spelled) Supposedly, the mother becomes depressed and might endanger her child. I've heard stories of mothers who drowned their children for no apparent reason. And that they're genuinely sad when they find out it is dead.

This is a really creepy area of the human mind.

None taken. I was trying something new here, and instead of shooting it all with video I decided to attempt a quasi-animated vid with manipulated images. Similar to what I did with "The Mirror," but on a grander scale.

But as I have quite a bit of free time with work slowing down for the winter, I'll put out videos with actual video in them soon.

Yeah, lessons learned. I think it came out pretty well, but looking at it now if I had to record that again I would have aimed for a slower pace. It seems to me like everything kinda flashes by quick.

crappypasta did an awesome job of editing everything the images and effects together though for sure.

I like the audio, which is why I didn't ask for another take. Too slow a pace would have made it kind of cheesy in my opinion. The audio was cut up and moved further down in some places, though, to provide breaks between points. I wanted to go for a series of quick-flashing images, because I didn't want to linger one one thing too long.
