I'm happy your procedure came back with good results! I have to have a colonoscopy done in 6 days. I just wanted to say thanks for you walking me through this. It put a lot of my fears aside.
I think the procedure is waaay over prescribed. I had an issue and the dr could not work out what was wrong so to cover his own back, he wanted me to go through this. Anyway, I recovered the week before so cancelled the thing. Also, none of these videos mention the very real risks of perforation of the gut and even death. In fact the risks of the procedure are considerably higher than your chances of getting colon cancer. It's a money spinner of course but then again we all need to earn a buck.
Thanks your video really helped me! I've had really bad acid reflux for 4 years off and on now and I'm probably going to have to get the Upper GI done. I'm glad to know it doesn't hurt at all. I'm a little scared of the results but at the same time my doctor says not to worry because I'm only 23. When they knocked you out, did it seem like you were out for a long time or only like a short nap of sorts? Thanks again, much appreciated!
The IV is usually put in a vein in the back of your hand. If the person that puts it in is good you barely even feel it. That's nothing. Then if your really uptight they give you Versed (midazolam) which is a sedative and an amnestic. It makes you lose your memory of the entire procedure if they keep you awake. That called conscious sedation. The other way is Monitored Anesthetic Care (MAC). Here they knock you out completely and you wake up and feel like nothing has been done. No Pain.
thank you soo much for this video! im getting mine done on monday and i am really scared.. first of all because my butt is exit only and also because im 22 years old.. i've never had an iv put in my arm . how does it feel? does it hurt and how does ur butt feel after u wake up??? ohhh god this is driving me crazy u guys dont know how scared i am!!! uff i hope u can answer this questions for me.. please before monday 9/22/08,,, thank uuu!!!
i just had my colonoscopy done 2 days ago, and trust me, it's the simplest procedure i've ever had done. im a 16 year old girl, so i was completely mortified and embarrased about it, but they kept me completely covered with a sheet until i was asleep. they gave me profanol, which COMPLETELY knocks you out, so don't even be worried about being awake. also, an iv stick isn't that much different from having blood taken. if you're really nervous, ask for a numbing cream. any more questions? ask me!
@chikflik17 you sound alot brave than me, I'm 33 years old and i have to have one because I've been having stomach problems for two weeks and believe me I'm not looking forward to it or drinking that awful stuff. I'm so scared because it's my first time I'm glad you were knocked out and I hope everything is fine
wow thanks sooo much for this vedio .. it helped me out alot i was so terrified .. i get my colonoscopy and Endoscopy done next week boy it seems like a piece of cake but i wanna be out ... all the way out and if i cant i want at lease 3 bags over my head .. just incase one falls off .. they still wont be able to put a face to the ass..lol thanks for ur video it was great ...well i see you have it agin in 5 years well happy butt plungging... thanks again you make this alot more easier for me~jo
Don't be embarrassed by this. the people in the room do this all day long every day. Unless you know any of them personally, you will probably never see them again in your life. Unfortunately or maybe not, you are just another piece of meat to them and they just want to get it over with to move on to the next victim. I'm sure all the anuses they see all blur into one generic anus after awhile.
Copay for the colonoscopy was $250. Doctor threw in the endoscopy for free since i was gonna be "out" anyway. Guess he thought he'd stick it to me both ways as long as he had the chance.
Even though there was no discomfort that I remember anyway, I still don't like the idea of being gone for 45 minutes. It was like being dead. If I had died I never would have known the difference. I sure hope there is more to death than that "nothingness"

It takes a very special person to decide to spend their whole career looking up someone else's ass
