only reason canada didn't win earlier olymipics was cuz we had to use non professionals and that meant throwing together players who hardly played together against practically militarized european hockey teams. as long as canada's still got outdoor rinks where our kids hoan there skills and improve there endurence to teir hearts content for free we will continue to be great. that's what gives us the edge. once you learn to skate there's no tougher better game out there. and it's ours.

i remember being 10 and watching the interview and my mother coming in to the room saying, "turn off the tv that language and use of words is not acceptable." One of the greatest moments, as well as this one, was after Canada lost 5-2 to Sweden, only managed to defeat Germany 3- 2, and tied the Czech Republic. Everyone wrote them off. I remember Pat Quinn saying "It's not the coming out of port, but the coming back into port that determines the success of the voyage". This team wasn't only the best on the ice, but they also had the best leadership as well, glad too see them get their credit.
