  • Isnt mostly all 7.62x54R corrosive? How do you clean the MG after use?

  • yeah i think most of it is, the non-corr stuff is too expensive to blast away in a beltfed.

After shoot day is done i usually spray CLP or windex down the barrel. then at home i run some HOT water down it and then some break free and let soak for a couple minutes. then clean as normal with hoppes and patches. i douche the rest of the gun with break free, wipe it out and spray down with rem oil.

I may be overzealous with it, but ive not had one rust up yet :)

  • Ya its a pain to clean a rifle like this when using corrosive rounds. But im sure its worth the immense savings.

  • I spray them with WD40 right after I'm done loading them into the gun and ready to shoot. Works great and is a must with steel cased ammo if you want it to feed reliably...:)

  • Do you spray you links and casings down with WD40 before you load them all up?

  • Caliber on this 1919 is 7.62x54r

  • what caliber is the 1919?
