Damn, really good song for this. L and Light were both pretty cool characters, but that's all they were! Stop making it so personal. We all loved them and it sucked that they died. Death Note was a brilliant Anime/Manga series.

L lied about light being his friend L also planed his own death after he released Light and Misa from confinemeant by doing this he was able to bring Near and Mello into the scene L knew all along he would not be able to catch kira and that only Near and Mello could do it
If there was a second series it would be terrible, L's long gone (T_T), Light's dead (only minor compensation for L's death), Soichiro's dead, Mello's dead so pretty much all the good characters are dead (except Near, of course :3) and no characters could ever be that great.

Light is obssesed with winning and killed L even with L think of him as his one true friend! Imagine how you would feel if you were L and as you were dieing the one you thought was your friend is smilling at you with the look of winning on his face and now you knowing that it was your best friend that is making you suffer for no reason exept for winning!
