  • This movie makes me crying how my nation suffers.Actually ,The civilians and the young soldiers were scarified their lives for Bureaucracy Rules of Military Gov.That gov didn't care about the people but for their own sake.

  • damn government and soldiers......they will have to go to hell......they will have to suffer as they do,

May Great Buddha bless and help BURMA

  • I might be chastised by many for this, but it is true:

Obviously, Myannmar (despite being such a beautiful tropical paradise, from the pictures I have seen, and so rich in culture) has nothing to offer to the superpowers, which explains why none of them have intervened in liberating it from the devastating military dictatorship that has ravaged it for the past 25 years or so. What a shame!!

  • @thedrmat of course it is true.

  • @thedrmat No chastisement. You are absolutely correct. Burma has nothing to offer the West. Therefore no intervention. Nothing but lip service. Ditto Rwanda. Ah, but Libya has oil; let's intervene there.

  • Powerful, thanks for making this available!

    Love

  • Fabulous movie. But I wish Hollywood wouldn't use pan pipes constantly in the musical score of every movie set in a Developing country. Pan pipes sounded almost as out of place in this movie as mariachi music would.

  • We support the KAREN here in LONDON with my Burmese friends! We are winning! Please continue to send your financial support for our KAREN rebels!

  • THE BEST movie that i ever saw .

  • I am one of the cast in that film, the set was amazing and it was filmed in Kuala Kangsar, Perak in Maalaysia.

  • What was your role in the movie?

  • Invade Burma now. Hand over power to the lawfully elected government. Put all the murderers of the Burmese people on trial and punish those found guilty. Only then should other states, corporations and individuals invest in Burma.

  • thanks for posting ,fri,

  • Warm hearted thanks for posting this teobp0814!! Praying that Aung san suu kyi will be among the 6300 prisoners released. Have been searching for a dvd of this to no avail. Thank you John Boorman for making this.

  • This is basically what is happening in dem rep of congo at this very moment.....!!And even worse government kill the people and then blame it on the gerillas....!

  • a very well made film.

  • when they filmed this movie?

  • 1993, it was made in Malaysia, I saw some1 else comment, that's how I know.

  • the burmese generals Than Shwe, this flunkies, and his SPDC soldiers shouild all be dealt with. They should indure the same kind of pain that was inflicted on their own peaple; the enthic tribes, whoever. Than Shwe and his fucking mindless flunkies need to be sentenced to death. The SPDC soldiers need to be tourtured and killed; one by one.

  • Where UN Security, NATO, U.S, Britain, Canada, Australia? Where are they? Burma should be invaded by The international forces, and kill all the generals and soldiers. Good or Bad, kill them all!

  • your from Burma.

  • What do you think? Are you a cell from SPDC? My home city is Rangoon. Yes, from Burma.

  • Why are you being rude to me? I was just asking, I myself went to Burma, I like it, I like the people, the food.

  • omg! It just misunderstanding. lol

I didn't meant to be. So where you from?

  • OK, I am from Qatar, I visited Burma about 2 year's back.

I was planning to go again yesterday via Bangkok, but troubles at Bangkok airport.

  • So you been to Singapore all your life?

  • Have you heard about the September uprising in Rangoon, other countries called Saffron Revolution. Are you a Muslim?

  • No, I havent' heard about that, what's it about?Yeah, I am , are you? Btw, all your life in Singapore? I have a Burmese friend here, he works in a hotel

  • Been here for a few years. I think there's a lot of Burmese people working at Hotels. Regarding your religion you better avoid to come our country. The Government is suppressing the anti-government and also Muslim. Beware dude! Sometime Burmese people also want Bin Ladin to kill our Government.

  • I didin't get it? Whats my concern with ladi?

I've been there to Burma, every1 respected me, but you seem to scare me for no reason?!

Are you a muslim? I don't see Burmese hate us when I was there.

Btw, what do you do in Singapore?

  • If u r burmese and ur religion is Muslim, u can't get a Identity Card normally. Because of the policy of Myanmar Military Government. Not bcoz of the people. That's what I mean. Public is ok. When do go again never talk about the government. It's offence! Strange, huh..? What do you do also? I'm an accountant.

  • But I know people who are Burmese and they have an identity card, but your correct, it is difficult.

Yeah, I do know no1 talks about the gov, I am in high school.

But the gov doesn't bother foreigners, maybe before, but not anymore, not that I am aware of.

    Are you a muslim?

    So you've migrated to Singapore?

I know that burma has been in military control since around 46 or 47 year's.

  • You're welcome, I guess you don't want to reply my message, So I'll just guess your Bouddhist who's not interested to talk, take care bye.

  • I've told you, I've been here for few years.

  • Than Shwe, Maung Aye, all generals in Burma.. you all are devil, stupid dogs..

we will never give up. our generation will fight until we get freedom in Burma..

    FREE BURMA!!!!!
