I've got the same kit you've got but in black and pearl color the wammy bar is the first thing I fitted it screws into the bridge, I got it today and and don't know how to play lol, is the DVD any good?

my whammy bar stops tightening right above the strings and if i loosen it one revolution like you said it swings around by it self.

@CPBlazier I'm not saying these things are the greatest starter guitar in the world. I'm 3 months in and I'm already going to upgrade. This guitar and starter kit is $200. Once you start getting into the $300 range it becomes more of an investment. Besides it doesn't that bad. I have friend who has a more expensive epiphone and he always goes on about how clear it sounds. The Obey line is nice by the way.

I got that guitar last christmas but got the Epiphone SG G-400 1966 guitar. My SG basically rapes the starcaster but still play my starcaster for fun :)

What's the difference between the star and the strat??? the sound or the diffuculty to use?

@mimimishima starcaster is essentially what the squire strat was, a low quality Fender strat with 2 magnets instead of a coil in the pickups. And no guitar is really "difficult" to use, it just won't feel as good to play. And the squire/starcaster sounds shite but it's a great guitar to start on.

once you get better i recomend you gut it. honestly the pick ups are crap. beatiful guitars. but starcasters have high action i returned an acoustic one before. it had buzz and. two messed up tuning nobs. take it too the music shop and they will set u up. although squire strat is a much better guitar. not the china ones though. i love my electric. pick ups are pretty good for a 200 dollar guitar.

Well if your new to it, dont let yourself get discouraged! I am no professional player.. but it was worth it when i took my guitar this Christmas to play for my family. They were expecting a big Christmas production and i got up there and played Mary had a little lamb! everyone was cracking up so hard! hahahhaa

Promblems with whammy????easy just twist the whammy in the hole until it gets hard to twist

well what do you do if it stops halfway and it's like, right above the string? If it doesn't go past your fretboard but stops right above it?

The whammy bar? well you don't need to tighten it so tight it doesn't move, it just needs to be firm enough to not spin on its own. so if you have tightened it so tight it wont move try to loosen it one revolution.... or maybe even take it out all the way and put it in just in case its cross threaded.
