  • haha, this crap doesnt work.

  • @jdenotter26 well you are an idiot. It's just mild abrasive rubbing compound, and of course it works on light scratches. Heck, you could even use toothpaste if the scratches were small.

  • Very respectfully! To Scotty, I know this sounds a bit silly! But you know, just how to make someone chuckle in a good way. All the while being intuitive and thought provoking. Thank you!

  • How do I remove the glue leftover from the emblem?

  • @LPWWE06 try some goo be gone remover, all hardware stores sell it.

  • Comment removed

  • I'd like to see you do that with a real scratch not a scuff mark. That stuff don't work on real scratchs

  • @mikono14 it's a mild abrasive, and it does work on real scratches, I use it all the time when my belt buckle scratches paint on a car I'm working on. Of course, nothing will take out ones down to the bare metal, but it does work on light scratches.

  • does that scratch fix work on all color cars or are they color coded like white to white, red to red etc..

  • @laukc7085 all cars, it's jusst basically light polish abrasive.

  • What if its a black car

  • Thought your were a bit crazy 3 videos ago, but you really know what you're doing and explain very well. Subscribed!

  • great videos.. subscriber right here

  • If vandals scratch my car i think ill just go and get a little shotgun

  • Yes, sensei.

  • :) is there a vid for reving your bike or car too much

  • Hi Scotty what could be done about clear coat that is starting to bubble a bit.

  • @Cdogbillionaire you would have to repaint it after sanding it down. too late to do anything else. Scotty

  • @scottykilmer okay thanks Scotty. I think that the dealership probably did a quick fix job on it. On the honda I had before this honda (my last car was a Del Sol too but a 92 automatic VXI model with d15 instead of the 97Manual SIR with the b16a2 i have now) the clear coat came off in the same place. It's on the roll bar part on the part of the roof that isn't removeable at the back. Apart from that my paintwork is mint (unlike my old 92 where the red paint was starting to fade a bit)

  • Next time it has to go to the panel shop I suppose I'd get them to repaint that part. My new 97 is teal green so I think it might not be as bad as red as far as paint fade goes. Ideally of course silver and white seem to be the best colors as far as paint fade. the teal green colour is kind of unique and rare, and I like it though. I'm kind of colour blind so sometimes it looks blue and sometimes it looks green.

  • It's like they said in Pulp Fiction. Messing with someone else's vehicle is against the rules. You just don't do it.

  • Hey Scotty. Like this video! Can you do a video on removing deep scratches? The ones that need paint? Or, can you tell me what I need to paint it? Thanks a lot!

  • @Siphon880yt unfortunately the ONLY way to remove deep scratches is to sand em down to bare metal, and pain the ENTIRE area of the car, such as the whole fender if it's on a fender. I'm not a paint and body guy, so I won't be making such a video myself. Scotty

  • @scottykilmer Thank you so much. I appreciate it. I guess I gotta do lots of research on the painting and hopefully don't screw up lol.

  • @Siphon880yt he's right you have to feather edge the scratch(sand it till you can't feel any edges) I would use 180 grit paper for that then use 320 grit about 3 inches all theway around the parts that you sanded with the 180 then you can get fill primer in a can at auto zone make sure you only primer the sanded area after its try wet sand the primer with with 600 grit paper and sand the rest of the panel wet with 800 grit paper blend the color in so it will still match and clear the whole area

  • @mikono14 Thanks bro! I appreciate your time and tips on this. I'll be fixing it soon!

  • SCOTTY IS PROFESSIONAL 200/100

  • I'm using scratch doctor (which is a scratch remover) but it didn't work on my silver paint scratch. I can *slightly* feel the scratch with my nail so I'm assuming it's not that deep?

  • @GeneralCliff Oh, if you can feel it at all, it's pretty deep. You can never remove deep scratches completely without repainting. Scotty

  • nicely produced video, technique is lacking but entertaining at the least. Actually the intro video for the Black Card was the best part of the video

  • @19thebigone95 This is a demonstration. It really does work on light scratches, but I'm not going around scratching customer's cars to make a video. Scotty

  • I have a 740 gl... And some idiot scratched the whole side with a key... Is there anyway I can get the marks to get away or not to be that visible? or is that what you just showed? Because it looked like it was made with a pen :p

  • @skaize33 you can remove light scratches with this. If the key went down to bare metal, you would have to repaint that entire part of the car, that's why people do it, it's an anger thing. Scotty

  • I HAVE SUCH A HARD TIME TAKING THIS GUY SERIOUSLY!

specialy when he cant take the time to pull the leaf off his buffer and clean the pad

  • @onlinenides what a freaking whiner. Get a life. Scotty

  • @onlinenides ?????????? that was part of the cinematics, fucking moron.

  • loooooool squirt a litle bit more on your ragg hahahhaha

  • Can you make a video on how to Paint a car with rust-oleum.

  • does it work even if it deep

  • @jose01ification If it's really deep, the entire area would have to be sanded down and repainted of course. Scotty

  • Scotty i got a 2009 Subaru Impreza WRX, what's your verdict on them ?? I love my car i had a Mustang before and the Subaru is just in a league of it's own.

  • @SubaruWRXtreme Not a big subaru fan, their engines eat head gaskets and their automatic transmissions are amongst the worse ever made. Scotty

  • @scottykilmer

I agree on the automatic transmission though, they are way behind with the 4 speed auto.

But i have the 2009 WRX and it's manual and it's a very good car, i have a friend with a 2004 WRX and has no problems at all also i know more people with Subaru and barely any issues.

Never heard about the headgasket issue though, my Mustang ate 2 head gaskets in 6 years lol

  • my friend has an 09 nissan sentra. the tire warning light came on and is now blinking all the time. the pressure is correct, no new tires, no battery disconnection, etc. what could this be? i think maybe a bad sensor......? thanks for any help.

    -Richard

  • @MrRichierich1990 Probably, but you need a special scan computer to check those stupid things. Just another pain in the ass technology added onto already overloaded cars. Scotty

  • looks prety cold up there Scotty!

  • What about colour? You seemed to buff white with white. What if your car is another colour?

  • @JackMacyntire no, the buff just dries white, it works on all colors. Scotty

  • thanks scotts, car fixing is always easy with you around.regards.

  • so where do i get this brand scratch out ????/ i have some fine scratches id like to get rid of scotty thanx

  • @vinngrizzle I buy it at auto zone, most auto parts stores sell it. Scotty

  • lovin it will def buy some cant be much i see u like bike scotty do u have any bike videos cause i recently got one and can use all the help i can get !!!! thanx

  • That wasnt a legit scratch. Scratches arent black.... Removing a scratch by hand is close to impossible.

  • @lowermk2 Light scratches can be buffed out like this. White vehicles scratch black if you use a sharp object, give it a try. Scotty

  • @scottykilmer Very VERY light scratches, swirl marks at most.. but will show up again after a few washes. Just rubbing some compound doesnt remove a scratch. You need a high speed buffer and correct compound depending on how deep the scratch is.

  • @scottykilmer a scratch and a MARKER is totally different....

  • Straighforward and simple. I was freaking out when I saw a scratch on my Challenger. I'll just get rid of that tommorow. Thanks Scotty

  • this won't help for deep scratches like keying right? Right to the bare metal? Too late in my case, but just to know. And seems the new paint is soft. Scratches with the breeze. So for that I can use your tip. Thank you.

  • @jursee33 Of course it won't, you have to repaint a car to fix scratches down to the metal. Scotty

  • nice. i heard that if you where to spit tooth paste on a car and leave it, it will take the paint off.

  • @mrwfraser No it's also a mild abrasive, and will polish off small scratches. Scotty

  • I have a bottle of this stuff (used for my headlights), might try it on some actual scratches

  • This is the perfect video I've been looking for to do a good buffing job on my '00 Jimmy Diamond Edition. Over the years it have developed seems like a hundred little sewing needle size scratches. Since the Jimmy s Black the scratch are very noticeable.

  • that didnt look like a scratch.. looked likes a marker pen scratch :P

  • @abbass92 Critics critics, I'm showing a demonstration here. Stop whining. Scotty

  • @scottykilmer apologies, I did not mean to come out like a critic... I'm a great fan actually..

its just it was a bit confusing, does this process actually remove real scratches??

    Abz

  • @abbass92 Yes, as I've said, this is a demonstration. It does remove actual scratches as does any mild abrasive, like even toothpaste. Scotty

  • @abbass92 critics, critics, this is merely a demonstration. But the stuff works, as does ANY mild abrasive to remove light scratches. EVEN toothpaste would work. Scotty

  • @scottykilmer whaaaat?! =O you for real?? toothpaste can remove scratches too?!?! thats new!

  • scotty but dip scrach cant be remove shuld told ppl that

  • with autobody , why is it important to buff your car every now and then scotty?

  • @txturtlelytiger It's important to wax it 4 times a year to keep the paint supple so it won't crack. Scotty

  • hey scotty does buffing your car also leave scraches or is tht a mith,

  • @steeloable Not if you use a light polish and a soft buffing pad. Scotty

  • @steeloable TINY TINY little scratches, all buffing does that, but the human eye can't see em .Scotty

  • how much would i need to remove scratches that all all over everywhere on the car also i have chips on my bumper will this fix those?

  • @Matthew55904 Chips would have to be repainted. As for how much, just depends upon how stingy you are with the liquid. Realize it doesn't cost much though. Scotty

  • @scottykilmer how much is a decent price for getting a car repaint to a custom colour?

  • @Matthew55904 : chips need to be sanded , primered then repainted.

  • this may work for clear coat scratches, but not for scratches that have gone down to bare metal.

  • Scotty, how does this work?

  • @spelunkerd It's a mild abrasive and polishes scratches off. Scotty

  • @scottykilmer I always thought the reason the scratch shows through is because the outer layer of paint is scratched off, revealing paint underneath. So, I don't understand why removing more paint with a mild abrasive should conceal the scratch.... Does the mild abrasive displace paint from other areas into the groove of the scratch? Or, are you just shifting a high ridge created by the scratch back into the furrow created when the scratch was formed?

  • @spelunkerd there are various layers of paint, if the scratch does not reach the bare metal, you are buffing off some of the paint coats to reach the lower level that's still there. Scotty

  • you should do a video on how to properly clean the whole car, from washing to waxing and also what kind of products to use too.

  • Holy shit Scotty! Is that a German Helmet? what model? Can you tell me anything about it? Id love to see a video of that piece of history! I'v wanted a WWII German M42 in my collection for a long time!

  • @fordwillkillyou It's a 1942 Wehrmacht helmet, and i have a matching P38 pistol to go with it. The only semi automatic that ejects on the left side (and I'm left handed.) Scotty

  • @scottykilmer Very cool!! How did you get hose items? My Great Uncle Fought in World War II. He was in the Battle of the Budge and went all the way to germany. He brought back a Hitler Youth Knife (Which I own), A German Motorcycle engine, and a German Luger that he got off a body with two clips. (Which he still has!!) I Get my Grandfathers M1 Carbine after hes gone, I have all of his stuff from when he was in the US Army during Korea. Id like to see a video of your memorabilia :)

  • Wow thanks i really needed to know this. My evo has a few scratch marks on the carbon fiber hood, and a long deep key mark on the trunk >.> Going to be a long day when i decide to remove it.

  • Awesome vid, Scotty! This has answered a major question I've had for a while. Now I'm inspired- thanks again!

  • JUST LIKE MY VAN

  • to bad u used a permanent marker to make that "scratch" on the vehicle!!! y did u try to trick us???

  • Thumbs up if you will like Scotty as a Neighbor!!!

  • what do you do to prevent the clearcoat from flaking off on the tops of vans and trucks?

  • @fordbroncodave You wax the car every four months, once a season. Once it flakes, it's too late. Scotty

  • I have a black car. Is there any product you recommend to take off scratches that doesn't remove the clear coat? or will I just have to wax afterwards regardless of what I use?

  • @ejdubbs YOu have to wax, period. Scotty

  • hi scotty thanks for all these videos. you think you can teach some of us how to wax and buff a car so it stays shiny and clean? i know its a pointless video but if you have the time, thanks!

  • the next time vandals scratch my car im going to get a bat and buff away the vandals...

    lol

  • Scotty what is the difference between car "polish" and auto "wax?" I ask because the two terms are used interchangeably at auto parts stores. Also some waxes say thy have polish in them.

  • @moofushu Yea, what's in a name. To wax a car, it's best to use something that has actual carnauba wax in it, that stuff works great. And hard wax is better than paste, harder to use, but works better. Scotty

  • tooth paste works also.

  • @azthundercloud Yep, because it's a mild abrasive. Scotty

  • @Kevmo7 NO, I fix their cars too, and no one gets robbed as I have an arsenal of weapons to defend the neighborhood with. Scotty

  • @scottykilmer Hehe, that's awesome! Nice helmet, too!

  • Good video scooty! wish i new this trick 2 years ago i paid 100 dollars for a paint touch up :(

  • if its down to the metal, touch up paint or repainting is the only option

  • nice scotty,is that your big vacation van

  • @hp11208 No, it's a church van. Scotty

  • OR ... Kick that vandals head in.

  • I'm sure this only works on very light scratches. Anything that you can feel with your nail will probably require sanding and other work.

  • Happy New Year Scotty !

  • MOthers wax is the best!!

  • @gammatnt meguiars nxt 2.0 tech wax kicks butt too!

  • in before anyone else!!

  • OMG , some kids painted my car with graffiti. im gonna leave it because it looks cool.

  • @DRIFTINGIN808 make a video lol

  • @DRIFTINGIN808 If you do find paint on your car the next morning, quick get a can of brake spray cleaner. It will spray and wipe all the paint off. I did in on my son's car when he got into trouble for stealing his friend's girlfriend years ago. Scotty

  • @scottykilmer Chlorinated, non-chlorinated or doesn't matter?

  • @otakop67 doesn't matter. Scotty

  • @scottykilmer Thanks! I don't need to do this now, but it is good information to have filed away in case I ever do.

  • now do dents!

  • second!

  • VANDALS!
