The fondue they do is wrong. The most important rule of fondue is the simultaneous stretch of the legs, but their working leg is still rolling, while the supporting one is already out of the plie and is not moving anymore. Strange.
Nice video! I really don't get people who "don't like" it... I definitely do even if the quality of the picture isn't the best.. you can still enjoy :D
Dear Shkablender ... Thanks so much for posting this wonderful 3rd grade lesson. If one studies it carefully for all the details, there is so much to learn ... and it gives all of us an opportunity to surreptitiously "attend" the Vaganova School while in our livingrooms ... even though we may not be as gifted as these superb students.
yeah.. i just retook ballet on february.. and ill do watever it takes for me to go professional.. im 15. :D .. thanks for the "u must not b very good?" .. thanks thats .. a lot of support.. ? and im really into this.
and im not in professional training yet.. when you go to the next level u train 4 days a week and then the next level 5 days a week and the NEXT level 6 days a week everyday 1.5 to 2 hrs..
This is the most UNgifted class at the Vaganova Ballet Academy ever!
Unfortunately, ms. Gortchakova posted herself here, and couldn't say anything else about the Academy in general as she was expelled!
Seriously, ALL girls classes at the Vaganova have great turn out, extentsions, feet! But not in this class! No wonder that NOBODY from this class became a soloist/principal anywhere! And most of this girls were expelled out from the Vaganova right after this year and later !!!
@rlion2005 True... plus... they have the feet turned out but not properly... pretty weird to see how their knees are going to the front instead of over the feet... pretty bad
At least, but they must have had 8 to 5 years of training before they even to go the school, because they have to audition and be REALLY good to get in at 10. So I would say this is their 8 to 11 year of dancing, depending on when they start. They are roughly 13 years old.
From my understanding, they start between the ages of 8-10, so I would guess they are around 11-12. Regarding the rhythm of the tendus - in vaganova method, they are almost always done with the accent "in." So, it's not incorrect, just different from other methods.
It has nothing to do with gymnastics training, nor the long hours of ballet lessons, it is the teaching method that the teacher uses...ie., they teach "a" before b and b before c. Even with the mistakes that the teacher is making in misunderstanding rhythms (for example the battements tendus jetes are executed incorrectly rhythmically), the teaching method still works. The teacher is also some giving movements from higher levels and still the teaching method works.

@anelacadillo This isn't RAD or anything. The educational value here is far better, and the level is much higher.

I thought, that Vaganova Academy´s first year was for students at the age of 10 years. Then, they must be about 13.

wich one is valeria gortchakova?
anelacadillo 3 years ago
My guess is that they are 12-13 year olds. Not 3rd graders but 3rd year students.
