What they want to eat? >>>>>>>Elwood!>>>>>>>and Jake shit the Blues Brothers! LOL Love this Eyebrow Twitch-in guitar pick-in blue legend not to mention the others Otis slingin Ivory? ......Phew, good clip surprised it hasn't been removed by some jerks who thinks this somehow violates a rule against society?
Matt guitar Murphy is one of the best blues guitarists ever in my opinion!! If you like this guy Check out Steve Cropper! He is another one of the blues brothers band members Who has done more than he is given credit for!! Check him out!
My 9-year-old son and I were sitting next to Matt Guitar Murphy on a plane from Miami to New York last month. He told us he was in the movie Blues Brothers, but I didn't know until I googled him, that he was so well known. He is a really nice guy.
Indeed it is. My only complaint about the Blues Brothers films is that they don't do enough to showcase the huge talent of Matt Murphy, Tom Malone, Steve Cropper, and the rest of the band. Would have loved to have seen more solos in the music scenes.
@JFruscianteGod2 that's actually pretty normal, Django Reinhardt had that same tone and John Lee Hooker too, they all sound thin, ti's probably the string gauge.
Interesting ... Gibson putting this out. Matt Guitar Murphy more recently endorsed Cort brand guitars. Cort put out a Matt Guitar Murphy Signature Model.
Anybody knows what happened with Billy Stepney? Any whereabouts? Is he still alive? and after this, what came to him? I'd be grateful for any info about him. Thanks
I do not know what happened to him either. I have the same problem with E-Bass-player and Brother of Billy Boy Arnold Jerome Arnold. Maybe you have any info which dates after 1969?
I know the Bluesdrummers S.P Leary, Francis Clay, Al Duncan all died when they were in their 70's. Ody Payne died in the late 1980's/early 1990's I think. I know Sam Lay is still alive, Willie Smith, too. Don't know about Frank Kirkland
i dont even wanna know what the heck it took to learn how to play the way he does. i learned to play from vintage rock n rollers and blues players and youtube of course!
yes, yes, and YES..hes one of the guitarists from"the blues brothers" movies...and hes right up there with BB, Albert, Muddy, Buddy, Hooker, and ALL the other great blues guitarists...."thats all I got to say 'bout that"....
Wow. I wish I was down there. I read somewhere where Matt had some health issues- evidentially he had a stroke but I haven't been able to find out anymore about him. If he is playing then I am assuming he is ok. God bless Matt.
Recall I had an album with Sonny Boy Williamson, MT Murphy guitar and Otis Spann piano. Just never heard of him again. Hope he had a good career. Drummer looks so cool...
