I RP'd Star Wars on Myspace since i was 13, I'm 19 now. 6 Years! Myspace RPing was THE BEST it was so unique the way my community RP'd. It was such a large and rich community and we all had so much fun! I haven't found a better RP community since. Many of us still RP on Myspace, if anyone is interested in RPing from the post-clone wars to the communities present time (We branched off of Star Wars cannon to create our own, which is much better believe me) then message me!

LOL, I was roleplaying before it hit myspace. Yeah on good old paper with friends back in my school days. And then myspace came and I joined and started rping before it was even popular. I was one of the people that started it. Thats was YEARS ago. But it's just died down in the last year. People go to sitemodel now and try to rp. It's still not the same like the old days though.

You take screenshots/photos from ANYTHING, be it 'The Lion King', 'Harry Potter', or just some random Anime picture floating on the web. You can truly create a character that's anything you want it to be. I always thought of Roleplaying as creating a collaborative story with other Roleplayers, building your own characters history. It's not exactly secret. xD

But the people that I have become friends with, they use roleplay to practice writing skills, and get much better at writing with various different people to write with. You take either a celebrity or a sitemodel pictures and you edit them like from photoshop or photo filter. and pick a name like "Hayden LoveRush < thats my name. & you add other roleplayers and you talk to them and become friends. Its really funn :)
im a roleplayer but not everyone does 'harry potter' actually most roleplayers use celeb pictures: miley cyrus; zac effron ect. then we use a creative name. example: saige dior. <---old name. you can change whenever you like. you make friends and you can join a family. its super fun <33

I've been RPing for about 6+ years. I created my own character from scratch with story line and such. It's very fun. Most RPers do it to get away from the real life drama and issues. We do it to escape the reality world and create our own world. Plus it's a amazing way to make friends.
RP has been going on for as long as i can remember and it will continue to grow and grow.
It's also a type of therapy if you think about it. Will explain more in a video response if i have the time.
im sure you got the idea from everyone in here, but my interpretation of it is pretty much meeting a character. like, if you ever wanted to meet Harry Potter, this is the closest thing to it. i Role Play as Dante from Devil May Cry and i've been him for 4 years. and Role Playing has been going on for a very VERY long time

Yeah well roleplay has been going on since about 2005 us when it started t get big. Its pretty big, alot of people just like being people who they cant be, like i started to do it in 2005 and slowly started to get more into it. I love when people think that roleplayers are lame kids and people who have no lives. It's not true you know, we have lives. Let me make this simple: RP is different for everyone. For some, it's a way to escape RL life issues. In all honesty, RP is just for fun. It helps, trust me. If anything, I know. I'm only 16 and I've been through a lot. I can honestly say that I can type 92 paragraphs with a response, I want to be a writer...and it's honestly helping me achieve that goal. I started roleplaying in 2007, about the time when the OC ended I think. I roleplayed Seth Cohen. Although at the time i didn't even know it was Roleplay, I just made this Seth Cohen profile cause i liked the show and shit, then all these Summer's added me and shit. And somehow I am a pretty pro roleplayer now. I'm an original roleplayer, and that means I make my own character while using someone elses face. My character's name is Zach Lafrenière and my playby is Ed Westwick. So yeah, its cool.

RP has been going on for as long as i can remember and it will continue to grow and grow.
It's also a type of therapy if you think about it. Will explain more in a video response if i have the time.

im sure you got the idea from everyone in here, but my interpretation of it is pretty much meeting a character. like, if you ever wanted to meet Harry Potter, this is the closest thing to it. i Role Play as Dante from Devil May Cry and i've been him for 4 years. and Role Playing has been going on for a very VERY long time

I'm one of the many people who role play. I've been the same person for three years now and it's pretty massive. There are a lot of people who role play. My friend once had over a thousand friends. It was crazy. Too bad a lot of people blow a load about it and report people. :/ But it happens.

Yeah well roleplay has been going on since about 2005 us when it started t get big. Its pretty big, alot of people just like being people who they cant be, like i started to do it in 2005 and slowly started to get more into it. There is like Zac Efron and alot of people and they have there own names and story lines, its pretty fun.

I love when people think that roleplayers are lame kids and people who have no lives. It's not true you know, we have lives. It's just , alot of roleplayers have things in life that they don't want to experience so they sort of escape from it. They make their "perfect Life". I've been with myspace roleplaying for 4 years. I've left a couple times and sure I don't do it as much. But it's an escape, it's fun, it's just something to get your mind off of reality. You can't stop it.

Kids? I role play on Myspace and have been a role player for more than 10 years. You really haven't a clue, have you? I suppose it could depend on what area of Myspace you have even looked into when it comes to role players. Or if you've even looked. Although judging by your inability to punctuate a sentence properly, I probably wouldn't role play with you. You wouldn't meet my writing standards. Myspace role play is just as good as anything you do.

@thedarkdefenders4 I RP on myspace. And it's not just Runescape and all that crap. It's ten times better. In RP you can do anything. The whole point is to create your own story or use one that is already created from a show or game. It isn't just those petty kids games like Runescape. That is a stupid game. And RP does take imagination. And I guess you don't have one if you are trying to tell everyone how RP is "really supposed to work" When it depends on that person. It's what makes it unique.

One of the largets RP genre's on Myspace is Dragon Ball Z. You want to see a HUGE amount of RPers? Search characters from Dragon Ball Z. Goku, Vegeta, etc.

Let me make this simple: RP is different for everyone. For some, it's a way to escape RL life issues. In all honesty, RP is just for fun. It helps, trust me. If anything, I know. I'm only 16 and I've been through a lot. I can honestly say that I can type 92 paragraphs with a response, I want to be a writer...and it's honestly helping me achieve that goal. I can throw out the theory to how this started;;
It was a chain reaction in a sense.
People started originally with chatrooms. Just honest chatting.
And then they made a character and wanted there story to be heard by there friends. :D
Then the other people had to make myspaces to READ the story and thought "I'll make my own"
And it went on.
Myspace RP is like highschool, though.

I've been RPing a character from the game Final Fantasy VII for 2 and a half years, love it. I don't see how it hurts anyone and I think people who campaign against it really need to get a life. You're open minded and you rock.

I used to Role play all of the time! It is quite addicting, and awesome. Plus I love to do it, because I love to write, and it gives you a chance to be creative. I stopped b/c I didn't have much time, but recently got back into it. You will make amazing friends as well =)

I've been roleplaying since 2002. I've been through a whole lot of characters.
Roleplay was fun at first but now it's so restricted.. and a bit of conformity in it too.
Most roleplayers are so.. judgmental and lethal just because they hide behind fake masks. Like they assume it's okay to reveal their harsh, blunt personalities.
On the plus side, there are some great honest interesting random roleplayers out there. :)

I roleplay ;D Its just like myspacers meeting eachother without giving out personal info. You make friends, and sometimes go in relationships. Its since like 2002. It started out with posers. :} I love roleplay. Its basically real life. And drama involved. Its fun and would reccomend it to anyone. Since 06 here!

Myspace roleplay has been going on since Myspace started. There was chatroom roleplay before that (I was doing it in '99). Why do we do it? Well, I'll tell you why -I- do it. I'm a writer. I need a creative release, and writing with others definitely helps me. I have an original character that has literally taken over a part of my brain. I'm glad you posted this video saying roleplay is cool, and not bashing on it :)

Real Roleplayers. - These are the people who rp non famous people, have jpeg pics, dont worry about populars. dont care really. they mainly para. and dont care about friend counts. actually roleplay for fun

I think its funny that you're so interested in roleplay. I've been roleplaying since, about 2005. I didnt know much about it then, but now its like what do i not know? haha, I started out using Ashley tisdales face, but i've moved on to original faces. Roleplayers do what we do to escape reality, plus its sort of fun. ;]

I started roleplaying in 2007, about the time when the OC ended I think. I roleplayed Seth Cohen. Although at the time i didn't even know it was Roleplay, I just made this Seth Cohen profile cause i liked the show and shit, then all these Summer's added me and shit. And somehow I am a pretty pro roleplayer now. I'm an original roleplayer, and that means I make my own character while using someone elses face. My character's name is Zach Lafrenière and my playby is Ed Westwick. So yeah, its cool.

So I've been roleplaying since 2003, I was one of the first people to roleplay; we started out with Buffy, but then I moved to OTH, and i swear, there are so many roleplayers out there, that if you think you've got them all counted, you would be wrong. Roleplay is amazing, especially if you write like you're doing a novel.

Roleplaying generally started in the early 03 or 04, and there's different types, some para some don't, it's like a liddo online world that's kinda like real life, OR you could pretend to be a character from a movie, but if you wanna start now, I suggest you don't, it's addicting and you won't stop for awhile. I've been RPing for about 3-4 years now, and it's getting quite addicting, but annoying and immature now.
