  • yeah.. often people think I'm crazy, I will be super emotional and awkward, people laugh at me when I walk by :( And I'm a girl, for crying out loud! the personality page said people tend to think girl INTP are somewhat dumb!!

the only thing that will make my awkwardness fades in one good day is lack of sleep for days and didn't shower in the next morning. All of that will decrease my awkwardness. But that's not a good strategy!

its a good thing there are people that engage in the same problems!

  • I love your jawline!

  • Fuck, i'm an intp... thought it was pretty cool. i'm having second thoughts

  • @JonTricky I'm an intp as well. I wouldn't have it any other way.

  • I just took the test and it turns out I am an INTP as well. Einstein, Darwin, and Jefferson are among some of the examples of this type. It is nice to be in good company! It also says that there aren't many INTPs....I wonder if that is why most people seem rediculous to me?

  • Personality type....hmmm...

An invention of the 21st century to be sure.

Myer-briggs is dangerous kids..stay away from it.

  • @FeelingFreshSon why ? cuz it seperates n labels?

  • @violet101

Something like that. Perhaps other people aren't as drawn to MBTI as myself but I REALLY LIKE IT. Too much so. I find myself classifying others, myself, ect. I try to get away from it, because people will try to "fit in" to a certain type once they discover MBTI. Of course, I'm talking about myself. I prefer, however, to move in a direction that coincides with my moral values....rather this affects my personality is ehh...NATURE VS NURTURE 8956203465does not compute

  • @FeelingFreshSon yea I don't believe personality can be so clear cut that u can fit perfectly with ur result. You can take some out of it but no one shud go as far to define themselves completely by it and dismiss new things they discover about themselves simply b/c it goes against their result. Labels are never good cuz it stops u from seeing anything different. I don't get what you mean that it conflcts with your morals thou.

  • @violet101 lol srry if u got more than one reply, utube keep saying ther was an error n retry :/

  • Go INTPs! I'm a fellow INTP :)

  • You're definitely an INTP! (I recognize some features my friend, also an INTP, has). I am an INTJ.

  • if you didn't umm and ah all the way through this video it would probably only run to 5 minutes instead of over ten. i thought INTPs were meant to be fluent speakers.

seriously, it seems as if most of you look through the personality types first, chose a rare one and then took the test repeatedly until you got it.

  • fatty

  • This test is always frustrating. Every other time I take it, I get either INTJ or INTP. I'm literally half J and half P, and depending on each specific test, it takes ONE question to place me in either J or P. Argh!

  • Same here. I switch between INTP-INTJ (perhaps INFP) depending on the situation. When a judgment is needed or I'm in that mood, it's INTJ. When I'm surfing the web, it's INTP. When I'm social engineering or in a relationship, it's INFP-INTP-INTJ.

I doubt most people are not 100% in ALL categories. Many are 100% introvert on the scale, but can't be 100% of the time, for practical reasons, in daily life.

  • As an INFP/INTP, I like to think a lot. However I'm very driven to help people, and care about other people's feelings. However I really am very self centered and want to focus on the thoughts and structures of thought needed to be able to describe a visual world full of change. Calculus provides a framework for this, and if you think about the target of the mathematical base, you'll see a connective framework that does a lot of self reflection and analysis, so I really enjoy them.

  • Te-ESTj in socionics

  • You strike me as more of an ENFP...

  • vaaaague! and no charisma. hehe..

  • What a relief it was when i found out i was INTP. All this time i just assumed i was crazy. I'll tell you i spent a lot of time thinking of why i was so different. Sure personality type doesnt explain everything but its nice to know there are 'others'. Just imagine how our lives would be different if the majority of the population was INTP instead of being dominanted by Extroverts,Feelers, and Judgers. Its tough being the oddball.

  • I feel ya.I used to think I had a mild form of Autism. What a relief? INTP it is.

  • @c7v You learn some very valuable things only by being a oddball and I would never change the experiences I've got by being a minority.

  • @c7v what would society be like...i'd like to think some kind of futuristic eutopia

  • Wow it's amazing how far the quality of comments has gone up simply by virtue of this being an intp video.

  • Indeed.

  • Great video mort! I am also an intp. There is actually this great site that you can join to connect you with other intps called personalitycafe. Just go on google and search for the keyword personalitycafe. I met alot of my intp friends there and many more!

  • Uhhhh, most people here have an internet connection and can read exactly what this guy is reading.

Must be a service for the blind.

  • Hey INTPs & INTJs, join the crowd, we're geeks & nerds and we'll never score damnit!

  • I don't think we're geeks and nerds. That is just how the less-intelligent view us. I'm a INTP and in school people hold me in suprisingly high esteem. I even hit off pretty well with some of the babes :)

  • @RodCornholio Its funny cuz its true xD

  • @RodCornholio Nahhh if you're an INTP like me, you just gotta develop your Ne and not get stuck in a TiSi loop by realizing that you're in one.

  • @wikitiki10 I'm intrigued. Gotta link or something you can point me to? It would help.

  • @RodCornholio greenlightwiki(DOTCOM)/lenore-exegesis/Tertiary_Temptation

Just scroll down to the header titled "Example: The Shy INTP"

It completely described me and i'm more aware of how I think of and in social situtions and now i'm getting a lot better at it! INTP's have a lot of potential... you just gotta know how to think according to the situation and have the right mindset.

(Oh, and put a .com in the (DOTCOM))

  • @wikitiki10 Thanks! I'm checking out now. Update from my comment from 2 years ago: I gave a girl the MBTI, she scored INTP (VERY RARE for females). She's been my girlfriend (and a size 0) for over a year. No fights or drama.

  • @RodCornholio speak for yourself.. I am an INTP - definitely not a geek nor a nerd... and I most definitely score. I maybe introverted, detached and overly cynical, but Im good at everything, adapt to my surroundings and im smart as fuck and i use that to my advantage. Getting with women is all about strategy my friend. Like the proverbial lion waiting for the deer, knowing when and how to pounce is key..from establishing the initial groundwork upto the ultimate prize, its like a game of chess.

  • and who plays chess better than INTPs.

  • @RodCornholio true dat

  • I am INTP but im a dumby in book work and in school work.. I have serverly bizzare thinking pattrens though and a high unconventional way of perceiving.. but i am by no means a "genius" i hate being INTP because im in a constant search mood and its very draining

  • mista, you become worked up in the modern way of living. slow down your physical body and topical desires. try thinking about bigger things like the world, or your neighborhood.

  • Theirs this new awesome site where you can meet your fellow intp's. Its called personalitycafe . Just go on google and search for it.

  • Loved your discuss man!

  • ya know, we INTP aren't mutants, but we have the "x gene". Lots of geniuses were INTP.

  • INTP's are smart because WE think more than others. Percieving and thinking whilst remaining quiet and introverted is almost like meditation.

  • Having considered myself INTp instead of INFp, I can say your video was very interesting. I don't fit any stereotype, but I can relate to a lot of your mannerisms. Gj.

  • So did you change? I can't find the follow-up vid.

  • I must be looking at too many INTP sites, as it sounds like everyone is reading from the same book. "INTP"

  • intp's are very curious about themselves and the internet. thats why so many people over internet seem to be intp. i think. also, they love to advertise themselves.

  • i've noticed intps are really smart. praise us all!

  • nope not boring at all :)

  • excellent video! Glad to know there are others like me!

  • INTP as well, here. As far as online resources go, I do find Professor Paul James' description to be by far the most accurate.

  • Ohyeah, I love that website on INTP description....I finally understood myself, the day I read that...and like you, I had to laugh (...at myself sort of)!

What fascinates me? Physics, Engineering and Stock Market speculation with an emphasis on "technical trading" (trying to exploit price structures/signals)....LOL

  • I'm an INTP, 16, and a girl. I took different tests on this multiple times and got INTP everytime except one time I got INTJ. Almost everything it says about INTPs definately describes me!

  • almost doesnt cut it, tests arent shit, learn all the types and fit yourself into it, the test is a guide

  • Hi I'm a 16 year old INTP guy :)

  • @Zaphenath4 holy shit im not alone. though im 18.. are you quiet at school?

  • Yeah man, I am. Just can't really connect with the extroverted types. We are so often discriminated by other people. It's tough being special.

  • @Zaphenath4

You're fortunate to know this about yourself at such a young age. Many people have lived long lives, never knowing why they feel different or who they are, thus any hope of applying this self knowledge.

  • @RodCornholio Yes. But I doubt many INTPs do not know about their special uniquness. I also felt that way for a few years. Couldn't really comprehend my sense of alienation to other people. Now that I have a better understanding of my identity, I can live a happier life and I'm even somewhat proud of my personality.

  • @Zaphenath4 Uniqueness.

  • @Zaphenath4 They certainly know they are unique...it is the WHY, the explanation, the analysis, the insight that the MBTI (& other tests) gives.

I'll capitalize the WHY for emphasis if I use the paragraph in the future.

  • I said 'special.'

  • I always thought the James description of INTP fit me best. Just amazing when you find something that spot on. As far as the emotional component, it's definitely there in both male and female INTP's. The problem is it comes out strong and over the top so it must be suppressed to avoid embarrassment. We cry watching movies too. We just tend to do it alone.

  • You can change your personality type just as much as you can change your species.

Tests are worse than worthless. They only scratch the superficial surface. The text you read does a pretty good job with that single type, but doesn't truly explain the system.

Reality is much more fine grained than that and the system takes that into account. I highly recommend "Personality Type" by Lenore Thomson if you want to totally nerd out about how all this stuff works.

  • I am female intp, we are even more reare then male intps around and no female intps are not much emotional! we share the same exact attributes as you intp guys do!

  • I'm an INTP too. The type-logic description fits me pretty well, but of course not completely.

One couldn't possibly be 100% INTP (or any other type, for that matter).

Oh and thank you, I always wondered how "benign" was ought to be pronounced, but I never remembered to actually go and look it up.

  • your an ENTP-T subtype, look deeper

  • INTP here. I can completely relate to the suppressed smiles and occasional chuckles as he reads the profile. That was me the first time I ever took an MBTI test...

  • I did also, especially the mathematics part since my major is that, specifically pure math.

  • I'm an ENFP!

    lets seriosuly talk about this.

  • The type-logic site is more entertaining than an accurate reference to myers-brigs typologies. The profile descriptions imply that nearly all intellectuals are INTPs and that INTJs are intellectually sterile. Check out Kiersey, its a little less biased.

  • The more I hear about my INTPness the more I am amazed at how accurate it is. I've taken the test 3 times and always the same. Thanks for the post.

  • Now i know why i find all your videos to be so entertaining, INTP...you haven't said anything in any of your videos that i don't really agree with..makes sense now heh

  • INTP here. I don't think the test is terribly accurate though. It only measures what the person thinks they are like, not what they are truly like.

  • INFJ.

Apparently I'm of a very rare breed.

And Mr. Morton, I love your vids. I have been watching for a long time and genuinely commend you and your insight.

    Thanks you, Sir.

  • INFP here too...lol

  • Yeah that describes me fairly accurately. I don't think these tests can ever be completely accurate... these are after all only sixteen generalised variations seeking to define the entire breadth of human diversity.

  • INFP -- have been this since taking it 6 times since high school. i find it to be quite accurate.

  • INTP, not a huge surprise.

  • you sir are a hard person to contact...

  • The tests are moderately entertaining. A bit shallow for my taste. Too many variables unaccounted for to make it more than a palour game. More accurate than astrology, but not enough science to make it a valid assessment of any individual.

  • I am an INTJ, and the typelogic profile was pretty damn accurate.

  • i love the way you smile when you recognize yourself*S*. i heard of lot of what i have seen in you and i must be the same or close to it...recognize a great deal of myself in what you read...

    Off to test myself...

  • I think when I was younger, I scored more to the J side, but I just retook the test and scored as an INTP. Meh... still interesting. Reading those descriptions, I could be an INTJ or an INTP, and I'm pretty close to an ENTP as well. I was starting to think that all the descriptions could be me, until I hit the S and F types.
