and the entire .net framework if anyone hasn't noticed it... and not only does it do across all of your pc's it goes to your windows phone 7 if you got one your xbox, your zune, and everything that microsoft has got their hands on, heck if there was a microsoft car there would be. Oh and windows live is free :D + 20gb storage initial with autosynch.

@mRCleANisunavailable Windows has no equivalent, at least not from Microsoft that doesn't cost insanely more. The Microsoft equivalent is Exchange, which is VERY expensive. This thing stores all your email, contacts, calendars, notes, backups, files, system settings, passwords, email accounts. It keeps your book marks synced between every Mac, PC or iDevice you use. Windows Live does NOT do what MobileMe does. MobileMe is "Exchange for the rest of it", and very cheap for what it is.

I have to using MACs: macbooks, tablet macs and iphone also... there so many problem with mailer, and web developing programs, flash frozen macs, iphone can not play it, built in browers cant not follow standards....

@bradnightmare .. sometimes it stopping for 10 sec without any reason, mouse of mac is unbealivable shit and expensive, keyboards also :(, PC starts photoshop 2 times faster... otherwise they are silent, small, well designed, the screen is really good, and there are some veeery practical thing: charger of macbook, amazingly long life battery, reaction of Iphone.... but using it, not the best platfrom I think, what do U think?

@V0ree in some aspects i agree with you on opening photoshop slowly but it all makes up for it in other areas like the mouse, yes it is expensive but you can do so many more things with it rather than a usual mouse like gesutures and sorts. i completely agree the screen is amazing and the battery charger is very convinient. i think because Mac os x is based on UNIX it is one of the most solid out there, whereas windows is a virus magnet

its just a computer. i own a pc, have run linux, might get a mac. In all honesty I mostly like them because they are aluminum and have a unix/bsd/man/bear/pig OS and from what I hear get good battery life lol.

OSX can't have more incompatibilities than linux, and if I need something on windows, thats where my gaming/daw rig comes in.

Even if i get a mac, the dotmac would be useless for me and the typical computer owner because, we usually only have 1 computer. So if i where to get a mac, i still wouldn't be able to transfer data and all that through my mac to pc. However it might be useful if i get more then 1 mac, but i highly doubt due to the high prices of a mac. ( I mostly browser the web and play games, and i don't think having a mac would be anything special, would it ?)

The reason why the Mac is so popular is that, it doesn't have as many problems that Vista/7 has now. Plus, you can run the operating system without as much horse-power as the windows computer. You can run Snow Leopard (the latest release) with a mac mini (1.4Ghz) without any lag/problems. It's basically like a Windows computer but 70 years in the future.

I have an intel iMac from late 2008. It runs awesome! I haven't had any problems with heat. I know the G5 iMacs apparently heated up like mad. Never had one. So unless you are going to be doing intensive processing in +30*C there should be no problem. But if you want portable performance then go with the MacBook Pro. You can't go wrong. Having been a mac owner for only a year I have already fallen deeply in love with my machine.

i would say you go for a macbook pro because they just got upgraded, or wait and get an imac, i don't reccomend a macbook pro because i think it's more for professional video editing, 3D rendering, the imac does heat up a little but nothing really important

To me I love my new mac. I have always been a PC user and switch to Mac. I love my mac, and most likely will never go back. I also am running windows XP through bootcamp for the programs, or for me my school, that arnt as easy to work with for mac then PC. I can run any program so far i have wanted. I've got dot mac now and its worth every penny just for the syncing features. It just makes life that little bit easier for those of us that have several computers. Thanks to dot mac sync + isync, my desktop, laptop, phone and iPod all share all contacts, calendar items and for the computers bookmarks etc. I recently changed laptops too. Within a couple of minutes I had everything I wanted on it already thanks to dot mac. Fantastic.

paying for sharing settings/preferences is only useful for those that need a couple of Macs. I'm quite content with my MacBook Pro and I would have a reason to get another Mac any time soon.

I share my Firefox bookmarks with Google Browsersync, which is cross platform. That way I have the same history and bookmarks on my Mac, Vista, XP and Ubuntu.
