Caught the NIN and David Lynch reference there... the audio on DOOM3 continues to be as stunning as the visuals. To follow up on Aubrey's work Id actually had NIN people channeling Badalamenti's darkest sounds into the DOOM3 environment. DOOM4 should reintroduce the stark, open feeling of some of the original DOOM levels and introduce a MELEE SYSTEM that is a lot closer to Mortal Kombat (quick, damage building combos) than Resident Evil.

Yeah, he was right, that "we don't give a shit" attitude was something that made Doom great. Back in the early 90s when Doom came out, id Software was not a very big company at all. Maybe 10 or 15 people tops. So, in that situation, they didn't have to abide by Bible waving mom's rules.  If you know what I mean, you get it too. Doom just has something special about it that makes me want to play it to this day. :)

I realy like that goat legs monster also while some say that Spider ROBOT is the "SPIDER DEMON" I think its a "ARACHNOTRON" because it has a plasma gun while "SPIDER DEMON" has a super chaingun

Spider mastermind had a chaingun, the spiderdemon/arachnotron had a plasma gun, but for the updated game the mastermind was to be the final boss in Hell, but was scrapped all together. That concept art IS the mastermind.

Where to begin Doom3 failed doom,sure its a mainstream success but the game itself is more a slow placed CGI shooter,its not really doom all they got was the setting, the level design suffered the most to apise the cinemagic image for the game then after that the weapons where watered down to match more realistic weapon designs the monsters pretty slugs filling whats left of this void of a game D3 might have story but it lacks gameplay and Q4 followed in its sad bland and lethargic footsteps.

Acaulty not since Quake 4 sales where half that or less of D3, in Q4 the levels are a bit bigger but just as bland and devoid of secrets as D3, with the level design dead and weapon design waffling on realism the gameplay has suffered,sure it looks good but tis not better than any other mainstream shooter out there.

It's easy to see why, a lot of stuff that could have made the game singularly unique (for example when you are killed they were going to have demon's feasting on your lifeless body)never made it.

For the most part it turned out ok and Tweaker's (formerly in NiN) Doom 3 theme was very cool but it didn't live up to Carmack's vision.
