The instyler works great on my hair and keeps it straight for days. As long as you wrap it at night it will stay. It was great while I was transitioning and when I big chopped I had no heat damage.

BUT, trimming split ends stops splitting up the shaft & more damage. I've been natural all my life and some think my hair "grows fast" I grew 8 inches of hair in 2010 from a shaved cut to just the top of my shoulder blades. Not cuz it grows fast, but cuz I stop breakage by trimming (WHEN NEEDED) & being gentle.

and I try to do it in a way that will last for that week
@hotdiva14 im 13 as well and i put profectiv mega growth lotion in my hair bcus it grows very slowly and im trying to grow it out. it will probably take u about 3 months to really see the difference but it is very affective. i recommend not to use any heat appliances for it to work better. you can purchase it from wal mart or walgreens

My mom has soft and curly hair and she finds it hard to manage or just chooses not to and have a professional press it (in my opinion toooo often). @XclusiveChiq you can get your hair to be longer even with a perm. maybe there are some things that you do with your hair that might be messing with retention? go on websites like long hair care forum (idk if you do already). tons of info there

Maybe section it, and use a blow dryer with an attached brush, or comb AFTER it dries to straighten it before you use the InStyler...

It looks like it doesn't do too good of a job getting the roots like a straightening comb or a flat iron would :/ do you think it's worth the money?

I heard that this product is does not have ceramic on the roll, therefore, it is not good for our natural hair.

Is her hair easy to manage?
I was born with soft curly hair (bi-racial) so I wouldnt know.

@AbhorationImvu ok it's looks as if someone was trying to point out she's mix & her hair is soft and curly. i think any curl pattern can be a task and obviously it looks like her mom can manage her hair. My mom has soft and curly hair and she finds it hard to manage or just chooses not to and have a professional press it (in my opinion toooo often). The vid is about her daughters hair instead of trying to make a point that you wouldn't know about her hair cause yours, I guess is more managable.

@XclusiveChiq you can get your hair to be longer even with a perm. maybe there are some things that you do with your hair that might be messing with retention? go on websites like long hair care forum (idk if you do already). tons of info there

I remember when my mom used to do my hair for me, now I'm old enough to do it myself and I can see how much work it was for her! :)

*Some of you are really dumb... There's never a shortage of damn fools... Anyway, you probably shoulda gone over it a few more times, and slower because you could've gotten it a little straighter. Maybe section it, and use a blow dryer with an attached brush, or comb AFTER it dries to straighten it before you use the InStyler...

And if you have a daughter of your own, you do what you believe and do whatever you want with her hair going natural, but don't discriminate and tell this mother what to do.If she did hated her daughter's hair, the poor baby's hair would of had very less hair or sporting a very pea sized damaged pony tail and probably don't want to have anything to do mantaining her girl's head.If you don't like watching things like this, watch something that fits w/ you.Sorry,but some afrocentric ppl can be....
