I don't know why Trout Mask Replica is heralded as this bands best effort. Not to diss that record, but this is just in a different stratosphere to me. On vinyl it works brilliantly, the first and second half combining as one act of genius. This record will melt your world away, if only for awhile, and take you to some sort of dreamland. This song, 'Fallin' Ditch' and 'Electricity' certainly did something else to me in eighth grade when I first discovered them. Later on, the album 'Lick My Decals Off, Baby' would go on and do it all again to me. Such times and especially the look on my friends faces when playing them 'Electricity' for the first time are things I hold dear to my heart. Shucks.
