Those are scarce. Christians are not allowed to congregate in china and that is against the law.

This must be an old video. I live in Asia and help some Chinese students with their English. This in NOT their view of the church in China. They have a lot more freedom of worship than this video portrays. Some provinces are stricter than others, but they still have freedom to worship in church. I'm glad the video is calling attention to persecuted believers, but there are other countries that are far harsher on Christians than China.

I have been living in China for over 8 years and there is really no "persecution" for religion here. When asked if you believe in God, they can answer freely and believe in the God of their choice. I've met many who openly declare their belief in Jesus Christ.

You can get them in Church/the Xinhua Bookstore and they're in both Chinese and English. I live in Fujian so I cannot speak for other parts of China but it's really appears to be quite free in religion here. There is a Christian church in Xiamen where many international and Chinese nationals go to church every Sunday. I'm not sure how it was before 2003.

This must be an old video. I live in Asia and help some Chinese students with their English. This in NOT their view of the church in China. They have a lot more freedom of worship than this video portrays. Some provinces are stricter than others, but they still have freedom to worship in church. I'm glad the video is calling attention to persecuted believers, but there are other countries that are far harsher on Christians than China.

China holds the right to regulate Church activites and even means of worship. So, the people who want to break away and worship their God as they want face losing their freedom and even their life. Five people were sentenced to death for attending one of these underground churches in China in 2001 for worshiping their God.

#2 All countries regulate religion to various degrees. In the US, for example, no one can register a cannibal religion. If an American is caught, say sacrificing a police officer and eating them because that's their religious faith, they would be executed.

Funny though, people are still being arrested for attending any non "supported" church that can't be run by the government. That info is easy to find if you look for it. As far as the 5 i read abou,t I can't find a link to that one case...too many others pop up and i'm not going to spend hours looking for it. However, i'm not lying. I wasn't there to watch them get sentenced but that's what i read.

I was working for a Christian mission in Africa in the 90s. Anytime we were told by locals to leave then alone, we cried 'persecution!'. I'm familiar with the tactic. When Waco happened, it was reported as 'American government attacks Christians for no reason! Christians persecuted in US!" Then I got back and found out the truth.
Try the truth - it's better than bullshit.

@cbtmedik I'm familiar with the committee. Their goal is to paint China as evil. They do a good job of it. I'm not saying China isn't fucked up - but it's as fucked up as America. I'd argue America is worse in many ways.
In China, if a business exec lies, cheats, steals, and destroys the financial stability of tens of thousands, they are executed. In America, if a business exec does the same thing, they get a bail out, a bonus, and a better office space.

China say's "we support these religions" but only government-authorized religion. See the problem? So, people choose to worship behind close doors and got arrested for it. I'm pretty sure you're lying about this. Especially since the 1978 Constitution of the People's Republic of China guarantees "freedom of religion" in Article 46. 'underground churches' have not been necessary since 1978.

Go figure, Christianity has been recognized and supported by China's government, officially, since 1981.

I have been living in China for over 8 years and there is really no "persecution" for religion here. When asked if you believe in God, they can answer freely and believe in the God of their choice. I've met many who openly declare their belief in Jesus Christ.

@Faxxer248 How long ago was it that your friend was bringing Bibles? I've already bought several Bibles in the bookstore here. You can get them in Church/the Xinhua Bookstore and they're in both Chinese and English. I live in Fujian so I cannot speak for other parts of China but it's really appears to be quite free in religion here. There is a Christian church in Xiamen where many international and Chinese nationals go to church every Sunday. I'm not sure how it was before 2003.

I'm sure the person who posted this video is well meaning, but it does NOT accurately depict the situation going on in China. I think the people producing this very FALSE info are doing so as a way to trick MONEY out of well meaning people innocently thinking they are supporting our brothers and sisters. Except for a brief time in about 2008, since the death of Mao, there is very little repression of mainstream Christianity, only very abarent CULTS are really facing repression.
