  • CAn you say Mute?

  • thanks for the vid,did help alot

  • Very helpfull,thanks.

  • @spitzer72 your quite welcome.

  • @spitzer72 the carbon most definately can reach every crevice and corner. im very obsessive over the cleanliness of my weapons, so i tend to break them down as far as i can and clean everything.

  • @spitzer72 this is an advanced tutorial. if you dont feel comfortable doing it, then dont.

  • kool.now lets do the lower assembley.lol

  • @wardog65613 good call. first ill steal it back from my ex wife, then ill figure it out. lol. id love too, but imma just buy another down the road and figure it out. i just dont want newbies attempting it and destroying a good pistol. stay tuned, ill try to put one together for ya down the road.

  • Why can't they just follow the design of CZ75B. Disassembling is easy and simple, no need for instruments.

  • i was thinkin about gettin the model 92 but i was lookin at the 24/7's too. why do u say the only other taurus guns you would buy would be the 92 or 99? Ive heard their polymer framed guns arnt as sturdy do u think thats true?

  • @campusgolfchamp just my personal experience. ive heard others that have bought them and loved them. maybe im just being biased off of a few bad experiences, but im also way more picky than most. lol. the 99 that i used has lasted longer than any barretta varient, and my dad used the same weapon, and it survived all of his abuse in panama.

  • I was thinking about getting a Taurus but, after watching the breakdown process to clean the thing, I have definately made my decision to go with the Springfield XDM45. Simplicity is a beautiful thing!

  • @iamrandyjames the xd's are another personal favorite. pretty easy. dont recall breaking em down as far as my 1911. 1911 fans are die hard, and im sure youll find your way to one eventually lol. if i get ahold of another xd ill try and post a vid.

  • Quick question bro. I just bought a pt1911, and I took it apart just like the directions showed to clean it. You'll have to forgive me, I'm a little ignorant when it comes to pistols... this being my first one (I'm a rifle guy). I notice you locking back your slide without a mag in it. Mine will lock back with an empty mag in, but won't when the mag is removed. Are you flipping up the slide lock whenever you run the slide back to hold it in place. I couldn't tell from the angle of the vid.

  • @ChrsGuit the slide lock is located on the left side of the firearm under the slide.

  • @ambergerftriley

Right, I gathered that much, just didn't know if you had to manually push it up to hold it up to retain the slide in the "open" position with no mag in, vs it holding open when an empty mag was in. I figured it out after some common-sense piddling. Thanks again!

  • @ambergerftriley

Right, I gathered that much, just didn't know if you had to manually push it up to hold it up to retain the slide in the "open" position with no mag in, vs it automaticly engaging and staying open when an empty mag was in and the slide pulled back. I figured it out after some common-sense piddling. Thanks again! I love this gun btw... Got to take mine to the range for the first time Saturday

  • @ChrsGuit my bad dude. lol. got some vids of me shootin mine, you should post some up.

  • @ambergerftriley I posted one of me shooting the 1911. It was the first time I'd ever shot it, and it's just a quick clip one of the guys recorded. I posted it Sunday, so check it out if you'd like. I only have one other vid and that's me shooting my Garand. I'll try to get some more (better) vids up soon

  • be careful about dropping the slide on a empty chamber like that, I dont know about your 1911 but its bad for mine. think it can crack the sear on it and make it accidentally full auto... mad mojo with a 45 at random

  • yeah i have the same gun ans i couldnt figure out how... so you have to pull out that thing? im confused... berretas are so much less complicated... why want this be a simple pin remove and take apart...

  • @rockonmyfriend being in the army i deal with the beretta's, and i have to agree, much easier to dissasemble. even one handed. but, you have to pull out the slide stop to get it all apart.

  • good video. really instructional and all, but for the love of god man, get some better music...

  • @jglee1236 i feel ya dude. its a copyright infringement. i had some good guitar on the original.

  • why do you say not to buy any other taurus weapon i own 3 taurus millenium pro handguns with no problem the 9mm and the .40 cal and the .45acp all fire with no problem at all

  • @bang2loud1981 i had had some trouble with a couple. but i cant personally speak for your firearms. could have been a fluke for me as well. i actually picked up a taurus .357 mag revolver, and love it.

  • sweet gun

  • yes i dry several times. no go. don't get me wrong, i love mine too. a sweet pistol. i have two 1911, my taurus and ria. some of my friend what to sell but no way. my third 1911 will be a springfield armory mil-spec.

  • maybe you could give me a link to pics or post a vid on whats wrong.

  • i have the same thing in removing the fireing pin. thumbs down on taurus!!!

  • i really never had any problems with them. if you can describe it a little more i can try to help. i really love mine, and am considering getting another. this time the pt1911 ar, cause i want a rail.

  • seeing this is why i love the Beretta 92 the easiest semi auto to take apart.

  • i think beretta pistols in general are easier than hell to take apart. the standard army issue m9 can be taken apart one handed. i can yank the slide off while someones holding it. the reactions are priceless.

  • My PT1911 got a new safety, sear, hammer and trigger job recently. took up a lot of slack and creep, say about a 22 oz trigger break now got 2nd place last year with it in PPC shooting 1st year shooting 45 ACP in Comp.

  • how are you enjoying the new parts. congratulations on the second place, btw.

  • My heart went 'flip-flop-I'm- Gonna-Pop when you smacked the plate with pliars. SO, technical! So gentle! Taurus would crap. I'm about to use my "Lifetime Warranty" - after only two weeks of shooting. Big od dings in the edge of the barrel-ramp. Feeds FMJ's OK - but JHP's suck. They say it's designed for ONLY FMJ's. Ya' can't find that until AFTER you buy the damned gun! My Millenium Pron 40 S&W just keeps on ticking. Never a miss. Instructions for disassembly stink though.

  • ...That has been a huge stigma for 1911's since their conception. They were designed for FMJ, and are "too old" to be reliable with JHP's.

Why would you wait until after buying a gun to research the gun?

  • any newer one never seems to have a problem with em anymore. 1911s have come a long way for staying the same. lol.

  • terrible choice of music

  • i had dragonforce, but i got hit with a copywrite infringment. this was the only one that matched the length of the vid.

  • when i pull my fireing pin out the spring loaded pin doesnt come out any suggestions?

  • try moving your extractor claw back and forth. it has a cutout that the pin sits in. if its too far forward or back it holds it in place. also , once its out, check to see of the spring is mashed.

  • Nice vid and very informative. The only problem I have with my PT 1911 (I have the AR version) is that the trigger is a bit sloppy. is there anyway you can adjust it yourself or is it just something a gunsmith can do? Thanks again for the vid!

  • i never messed with it much myself, but if you can look in it and locate the source of the play. maybe its a loose pin, or something you can tighten yourself. it never hurts to ask a gunsmiths opinion though.

  • Yeah that's what I plan to do. Basically, I can put my finger on the trigger and without pulling it I can just move it up and down in the trigger guard just a bit. It doesn't affect the pull or anything it just feels loose. Thanks for the advice!

  • theirs no loose pin or something to tighten it up (retards post when they know nothing about them knowing nothing) it's made loose for a reason but not to loose, if fit to tight in the trigger guard the trigger will not reset after pull of trigger round fired and trigger release . but yes you can tighten it with the two prongs on back side of trigger if completely disassembled.more or less take it to a gunsmith. all of mine have about a 16th of play

  • thanks for the advice. I appreciate it a lot.

  • Nice vid. I've got a Glock 27.

  • I have a glock 23

My Glock is bigger than your Glock...heh heh :D

  • LOL...it's not the size of your Glock, it's what you...ah, who am I kidding?

  • try a springfield xd sometime, i did a glock xd comparison. im sold on springfield.

  • I've heard good things about them. I will try one next time I'm at the range.

  • Awesome video man you should consider becoming and armorer for tauras. Hey is that a leatherman multi-tool or ???

  • i wouldnt mind getting into sale of guns, and low level maintenance. btw, thats and army issued gerber multi-tool.

  • Well my personal opinion is you'd be great at it. I have a taurus pt1911 and you took it down without breakin a sweat. My uncle is an armorer for glock, smith and wesson, springfield, and sig.

  • its either armorer school or eod. i got a few years left in the army, so either one could land me a good job afterwards.

  • AHHH!! i love my gerber lol 63B baby!

  • me too. 21b. my 63b buddy just picked up a rock island 1911.

  • Great video. I'm considering buying a PT1911 really soon. I was just wondering what your opinion so far with the pistol?

  • very nice instructional video...was really helpful good job!

  • Hell Yeah!!! 10,000 views

  • good instructional video. It could do without the gay dance club music though

  • great job demonstrating the breakdown and reassembly. I'd probably say nix the funky music and just go with a verbal description as you're working, but that's just my personal opinion. Keep up the good work.

  • why do i see so many people remove the barrel bushing and main spring to field strip?? just as easy to line up take down notch.. both ways

  • too true, but for people who havent done it before, its just easier.

  • yeah...unless your doing a thorough cleaning or changing a frame buffer, there is no need... i still go for the pin first though, i think im faster manipulating the spring cap and bushing without the frame in the way.. same in reverse for reasemble.. guess its just personal preference, but i know some old timers that would have called me a retard and hit me with a cane for doing that...lol

  • Taurus 1911 pistol has a problem keep on jamming and the problem is the magazine the angle is not good too much clearance always on bullet on the top thats why their are always the tendency bullet will not properly feed to the chamber result it causes a JAM

  • never had a jam myself until i used some springfield mags. this things been awesome to me. 3000 rounds and not a single problem.

  • a whimp wrist causes jams too

  • huh

  • never had any problems with jamming on mine although it is crimping the bottoms of shells ever so slightly. not that it really effects anything but ive never seen another gun do this.

  • is it from the extractor claw?

  • i think so ive only put about 200 rounds through it to date so it might just need some more "break" in

but man i loved your video.

  • mine does that also. iv put about 500 rounds through it and it still does it not quite as bad but still leaves a mark

  • haha i have that same exact ring

  • taurus makes a tool for the bushing. it should have come with the gun when you bought it.

  • it did. i just love my gerber multi tool. lol

  • Would have been nice if you spoke about the gun rather than fill it up with crappy electronica music.

I can't stand gun videos with music over them.

  • this is just more of a visual aid. and as for the crappy electronica, it wasnt my choice. i had some good rock, but got hit with some b.s. copywrite problems and it was the only song that came close to matching the video length. im planning on doing some reviews videos but have been too lazy. check in sometime to see what ive added.

  • Thanks, Your video is very instructive. Thank to you I was able to understand how to take a part and put back together. This my first 1911. Kool music and pauses to guide me to the key steps.. Great video focused on educating. I give you highest rating.

  • Excellent video. Just to be sure, after im done, the way to check if i execueted the reassembly correctly, i should slide it, make sure the slide release holds, and make sure it still dry fires...and i should be good right? am i missing anything? Thanks.

  • sounds good. you can also take the round out of the casing and dump the powder. then you can put your hommade blank in and see if the primers struck. good luck

  • why do you say that only to buy certain taurus firearms? I have 3 and the 1911 on the way and i have never had any problems.

  • its because ive shot quite a few and there the ones ive had either the least problems or none at all. its just off my own experiences.

  • Great vid. I am getting my PT1911 on Sunday so this will really help with my first field strip. It is more complicated than my PT100, thats for sure. (I can FS it in about 4 seconds) so this vid is a great tool.

    Thanks Again!

  • thanks for the vid, i just got my pt1911 and its tricky breaking it down, this vid def helped. also, i agree, most of the other taurus guns suck, i had 9mm taurus millenium pro, and the triggr just got too loose to use, often it just stopped working....

great gun, i'll have to make vid soon

  • I also will chime in here that taurus is somewhat hit or miss-but i'm picking up my pt1911 on friday at noon-my first taurus, my first .45! I cant wait...I almost shelled out an extra 200 for a used but unfired paraordnance p-14 all stainless-hope this taurus dont let me down , i got the alloy frame black slide!!!!!sweet

  • Well done, nice video. My only wish would be that the quality of the video picture was better. It is difficult to see the parts.

    Thanks. That was very helpful

  • Awsome video, good lighting too. cheers

  • Nice pistol, I love the look of the flat black.

  • I just bought one today, I love it. going to the range this weekend.

  • hell no thats to much stuff i would have lost most of it or forgot how to put it back together

  • you gotta play with it. if you ever do forget, just let me know and ill guide ya through it

  • ok thanks

  • damn 6 min to break down and assemble, u should have bought the 24/7 OSS.

  • just time to instruct. im thinking about getting the 24/7, but damn if i dont love a gun with a hammer. lol

  • lol same here it just bugs me!

thanks fkor the vid it was great

  • Dragonforce?

  • dragonforce is awesome. i seen em in concert.

  • Vraiment très bien, merci

  • very good ... they do make a good 1911 and your video is great !!!

    jeff

  • thanks for posting this vid, i did have a hard time detail-stripping it for the first time, lotsa springs flying out. this would help pt1911 owners how to do it. :)

  • Great vid, I think I could have done without the music. Thanks for the help, I'm just getting into 1911's.
