  • How does the "add texture back" step work? Looks like you blasted away all the texture in the previous step using something like a brush based gaussian blur.

  • @kenyee88 adding the texture back is done by controlling the opacity of the original skin. after smoothing out the skin, add the original skin back section by section controlling the opacity to bring back just enough texture. by adding back the original skin you maintain some of the small imperfections which make the skin look real again. smoothing the skin is done with the healing brush; dotting or small circles allows you to avoid smudging or mixing too much of the tonal range.

  • the key light is a beauty dish directly above them. i believe there is a negative fill reflector directly below them and two white reflectors on either side.
