Couldn't agree more. Even my adult kids got a few laughs out of these old sketches; that in itself must bear testimony to the "timelessness" and originality of Gleason's work.
They could get a laugh without filthy language or sexual inuendo; too bad things have degenerated into the stinking swill that fills our tv screens today.
@MrGoblin60 Gleason once said in an early 80's interview, when it looked like sitcoms were dying out "We had no guest stars, special effects equivalent to a HS play, few topical jokes, no sexual innuendo. And yet, we created comedy that is timeless". He was right. Laugh In and 3's Company were funny in their time, but today they look so dated.
0:32.; Is that the actual recording of Kay Starr's 'The Huckle-Buck'?

In 2008 when Mike Huckabee was running for President we
wore friends out laughing at "The Hucklebuck" every time
a campaign ad showed up.

Who recorded this version of "The Hucklebuck?" Obviously it's not the original.

AT 0:15 you can hear a kid say; "Don't fall down". This is one of my FAVORITE episodes and I think they had a school visiting on that day.
