@musiclove77able i never said older children couldnt play with it i know that toys back then lasted long time and play value of toy this included lasted far longer then do these days. dolls use to be huge was only point. we all probaly struggled to cary are over sized dolls i bet our parents faught hard not to laugh I know I laughed when dad played home movies of me at 2-4 carying over sized dolls when i was 5 and up i wasn't 1 being taped.
Oh give me a break, why do so many people think baby dolls encourage teenage pregnancy? I played with baby dolls my whole childhood and I've never had kids!
I got my niece one of the sleepy ones in 1987 when she was three. On Christmas Day, she took one look at her and said "She's dead!" later on as we were video taping the rest of the day, she puts the doll up to a toy sink she got and said, "Come on baby let me wash your ead head." I have NO idea what happened to this doll.
I was 9 years old in 1986 when I had that doll. I had a black one, and man let me tell you, those dolls are heavy, darn near brough my back!!!!! Good memories!!!!
I have one of those dolls. I passed her onto my son. Her name was June, but all of her hair fell out. Now it is Jack. He took her to the hospital with him when he had surgury and all the Doctors and nurses thought she/he was real!
when i was younger i had a doll just like that i would take it every were now i dont have it i wish i did because i have girls now and i would of passed it on to them . 1980
I had the sleeping one and my sister had the awake one. They're still in my parents' back room closet in pretty good condition. Yeah, that doll may not have BEEN real, but it sure as hell FELT real! Does anyone remember how damn HEAVY those things were to carry around???
I got one for Christmas one year...I don't remember what I named her, but when her hair got too ratty the bully down the street ripped her wig off and she just looked...demonic after that. Kept her in the coat closet for about 4 years and finally somebody threw her out....ah well..
I'm serious!!! Without the crappy wig(brushing that hair was impossible, let me tell you!!), she looked like Bat Boy from the enquirer...lol Scary...eek
My little sister had one of those dolls when she was about 8 yearl old. Our brothers beat the poor doll up. It broke my sisters heart. She loved that baby. She burried it in our backyard.:(
I still have my Real Baby "Jessica" from 1985. Her hair fell out and she is bald but otherwise in good condition. My boyfriend has re-named her "Creepy". LOL!!!!!!!

I totally agree. I had one, and her hair go so bad we started calling her "Real Ugly Baby." The cuteness didn't last long!
