    Blessings friend,

    David

    dale

  • y u play it so slow?

  • hello and thanks for watching! i don't know that there is a 'correct' tempo - i typically like some bluegrass things at less than 'all out' speed.

  • very pretty ......did you know Whiskey Before Breakfast has words? Jerry, a Norman Blake Fan

  • For a long time, no. Just recently on YT did I see a video of someone singing the lyrics - thanks for watching!

  • A group called "The Hickory Project" sings the words to Whiskey Before Breakfast on their CD "Polaris".

  • Oh, one more thing - if you haven't already heard it, I bet you'd love Big Bill Broonzy's version of Glory of Love. It's a great fingerstyle rag, especially coupled with Big Bill's soulful voice.

  • I will be looking that one up! thanks

  • Ok, this just answered the question I posted on another of your videos. Glad to see another Norman Blake fan. I love his music. My dream is to one day commission a custom Martin 00-40H like the one Norman used to play. Hopefully I'll eventually get up the courage to post some of my Norman renditions. Keep up the great playing!

  • I'm a HUGE NB fan. Not enough space here - but as much as people like to talk about certain flatpickers - what about Norman - he can do it all - great flatpick and fingerstyle player - and such tradional tone and music! Yes - put me down as a big fan. Thanks so much for sharing your love for his music as well - and I hope you get that dream guitar as well!! dale

  • wow that was awesome

i wish i could play like that

  • Thanks for taking your time to watch and I appreciate your very kind words! Have a great new year and keep in touch, dale.

  • Is that a collings CJ? Looks like a deep om? Love it man. Really great tunes. You are a TONE MONSTER.

  • It is a Collings C-10 deep body. Thanks so much for watching and the kind words!

  • Guy can really play.

I like all the unexpected notes in your scales. Gives it a very interesting feel.

  • I love Norman Blake's playing - an American treasure - thanks for watching.

  • Nice guitar, that was cool

  • you are very nice - thanks again!
