@drhycodan - I think so! Then again, I'm partial to old school 2D games. If you like the Tales series, then this is definitely an installment worth playing.
Koudelka was another PS1 game that came out around the same time as ToD2 that had a lot of shockingly decent voice-acting. The Playstation was an innovative beast, even at the end of its lifecycle!

that grass around 5:50 looks amazing..i don't think we had cg at that level back when this game was released,considering it looks better than stuff seen on FF8 or 9...is that footage of a real grass field?
It got released in the UK, but there is a big bug on that version. If its not firmware 2.5 or better, it's impossible to beat Volt. Than again, if you get the right firmware, then you get the best rpg on the psp
i'm getting this game, but for the let's play part, i think i'll do the japanese version with the english patch. Why? the theme song on that version i liked better. XD
I wasn't aware there was a theme song! O_o ...of course, this was back in the day when US versions removed any songs with lyrics and replaced them with something generic. -_-

I doubt it's a real grass field--I think the effects were just really advanced for the time possibly.

I believe it was ported to PSP, but I don't think it ever got released outside of Japan. Don't quote me on that, though. This is the PSX version.

It was released on PSX in NA... Although took the name of Tales of Destiny 2 due to copyright issues I believe.

I don't remember what I did but you can adjust the sound config to fix the voice bleeding.

Yes. Just checked it now and my current configuration has no voice bleeding. So here are my settings.
Sound Plugin :Eternal SPU Plugin 1.41
the go to configure plugin and use these settings
Audio device should be DirectSound, Buffer size should be 64, Audio out method is on Thread
Under Misc: Wait for XA buffer is free is checked and Reverb is set to Neil's
And all three special game fixes are checked.
I'm not sure what does it but the sound plays beautifully with these settings Hope this helps
