I just bought a 2012 Mustang V6 with a 6speed manual and the performance package and I love it. This is coming from a guy who never wanted anything to do with a v6 mustang until I test drove a 2011 model. This new model out performs all previous 6cyl mustangs and some of the 8cyl's and does not disappoint. I would still like to own a new GT, but at the cost of buying one, insuring it in the state of NJ, and cost of gas, the v6 was a smarter choice with no regret.

I'm pretty open-minded about engine displacement, but I have to admit it will be a LONG time before the V6 can (or will ever be) accepted into a Mustang or Camaro... that being said... if Ford is being truthful/realistic with their HP ratings then I'm fairly impressed :D

And those responsible for song choice and camera work? Amazing... give those guys a promotion! One of few commercials that I don't mind interrupting my regular television programming.

@StrikeSurgical True, a mustang isnt a mustang unless its a V8, but it is quite impressive that the 2011 V6 will beat a 2010 V8 around the track. This is still a exceptionally engineered car

@StrikeSurgical Pree 2011 V6 Mustang, I would agree. This year's V6 makes more power than last year's V8 and gets 30mpg. The car also now gets dual-exhaust at all levels. I'm officially OK with the v6. :) An "ecoboost" update of an SVO will be interesting...

Did anyone else notice that, outside of a small blip at 36-37 seconds...the only sounds they used were sounds of the big bad 5.0? And then plasterd images of "31 MPG" right over the car making those sounds? I mean come on...nobody is that dumb Ford. Sweet commercial though! Hoping to get a new 5.0 in the near future!

@idiotfieldmouse lol i noticed that too and the new v6 and 5.0 are already out go to the ford website... they still arent as good as the new camaros though and i think chevy is planning something big with all thier cars which is why they are taking so long for thier 2011 models to come out.... sounds like a z28 to me and if not then ima just be mad that they took so long for nothing

nothing has changed for the new ss thats why they keep testing the 2010 ss. as for the z28 its a myth obama would not allow that car to go into production. When you said as good as the camaro you must be out of your mind. the mustang is way lighter and has close to the same hp. the mustang already beat the ss. maybe you should search some videos and you will see the stang spanks the ss

@RaNdY04gt i read the 2011 v6 is gonna have 312hp and the mustang doesnt spank the camaro only wins by a little bit and chevy has to make a z28 or the new camaro is a fail they should have made it from the beginning instead of the ss the name z28 is iconic and legendary to muscle car fans without it the new camaro is pointless in my opinion
