This song was on the 2 Legit 2 Quit album, so what do you mean this is weak when it is every bit a classic as songs like U Can't Touch This, Pray, and Turn This Mutha Out.
To whoever has and ear and wants to hear something very important the Lord Jesus Christ said: "For God so Loved the world that He gave His only Begotten Son that who ever believes in Jesus will never perish but will receive EVERLASTING life ;Therefore, whoever believes in Jesus has eternal life (right now) , but whoever rejects already had the wrath of God at work in their life". Check it out if you like, it's all in the Gospel of John, Chapter 3. Believe the Gospels and repent.
does anyone know of any more songs like this? Not the current rap style music with Christian lyrics, but Gospel/praise music + beats + Christian rap. This stuff is awesome!
@shortydog27 Yes. Pass me not oh gentle savior, hear my humble cry... while on others though art calling, do not pass me by. A slow purposeful, pleading song. A beautiful, solemn prayer to God. AND THEN MC HAMMER ROCKS IT!!!!! I LOVE THIS ARRANGEMENT!!! Surely makes me get up and praise Him!!
I'm not a religious person, i like all his hits, but this is my all time favorite M.C. Hammer song!!!!So uplifting.More important is his strength in faith and family.A strong wife to stand by him through highs and lows in life.Because at the end of each day, all we have is family. They're here for us when we lose our jobs and have no way of providing.
true true but lets not discard guys like fred hammond, tye tribbett, byron cage, TD Jakes, kirk franklin, the blind boys of alabama, the swan silvertones, the mighty clouds of joy, and many more. some of the most anointed gospel musicians are black
Something funny happens to me when i listen this song.I feel like somehow all my sins are forgiven, like other people's joy for the Lord reaches me and for moment i feel clean, and happy.
I agree imadownboy....when I hear this song I go back to the 6th grade when I first heard this song and remember thinking how cool it was that this gospel/rap had moved me. I still choke up a little when the choir goes "Whiiiiiiiiiile on others thou are calling...." lol. Now that I understand fully what the song is about as an adult, Im glad Hammer had the guts to make a gospel rap song and reach us the way GOD probably intended. Enjoy everyone.
One of my favorite MC Hammer songs. An one of my favs of all time. Sad that I never saw it on MTV of VH1 main streamed. He caught so much hate for doing what every rapper does now. Best showman Hip Hop every saw.
wow i'm just about to go to a church to play this song and i thought i'd brush up a bit and then i saw the MC version. needless to say i thought it would be yet another tupac jesus walks with me blasphemy but man that's anointing. i'm so happy for MC for this song cause all the money in the world will not buy god's love that's why so many of the old rockers are born again christians, alice cooper for example. amen brothers and sisters amen
I dont believe in an invisible man in the sky ! I believe in the human race, perhaps if we all got together and danced to this we'd forget all the differences around us and the world would indeed be a better place...AND This song....regardless of "any reference to any god" ROCK SSS! :)
When it rains, our Track team comes inside and does aerobics to this song. After about 2 hours of hearing this song it gets old, but its still a good song.
this song was done on the grammy's in 90's and they rocked it out hammer was danicn in his choir robe like they was church it was great. I thought they were gonna have straight church.
It makes me sad because he could never do something like this today without being hated. Can you imagine just 20 years ago something like this was "OKAY" to have on the Grammys.
LOVE IT!!!

This song is NOTHING compared to U Can't Touch This, 2 Legit 2 Quit, or any of Hammer's best. It's lame.

Take this from a fat, bald, ugly, middle aged white guy... there is Holy Spirit Fire in this - I don't care who you are.
