  • Great job Sara! Thanks for your bravery, courage, and dedication to service. You make me very proud to be part of DHS. You're an inspiration to us all!

  • How could anyone not give a thumbs up to this? This is awesome! Made me happy and cry all at the same time!

  • I really want to be a AST and I'm a female.. this gives me hope.

  • So beautiful. You are an angel, Sara!

  • yay Sara! My old roomie from Yaquina Bay...I knew you would go far. :D

  • Sara rocks! I saw her get a much deserved medal for her work and was total surprised at how small she is! Look at the video again and notice how she swings into the apartment from the outside via the balconey. The baby's parents just thrust him into her arms MID-SWNG - she never put her feet on the floor - then she swung right back out with him and on up into the helicopter! Now you know why she was terrified of dropping him!

Like I said, she and the Coast Guard ROCKS!

  • Beautiful Sarah.

  • Hey Sara... I was doing some research on Katrina and found this. I just wanted to let everyone know that you did one hell of a job performing your duties as a rescue swimmer. I look back at my pics every once and a while and still get the chills. Hope all is well, John
