I noticed two things. 1.You crushed skin by holding it with your tooth forceps.Had to do with one side of the forceps catching it from inside of the wound rather than crushing skin between teeth. 2. These sutures have to be burried ones,ie inside-out sutures rather than outside-in .How is that?
Hi, i was wondering about muscular sutures, if the muscle is cut, what can you do to make sure it will heal back together correctly? a dermal suture would close the wound i understand, but what could happen if the muscle does to heal properly. are there any sutures out there for muscles?
Yes there are techniques to bring the muscle together but you should never worry about that in the ER setting. Just close the fascia and dermis and the muscle will scar in together. If there is a large defect of the muscle then you should refer that to a surgeon.
I was wondering if this technique could be used in suturing areas over the certain joint, allowing flexibility of the joint and the using steri-strips to cover the cutaneous area over the top.
