People! When the cores were first installed they were fine. GLaDOS corrupted them over time in order to foil the scientists's plans to control her behavior. Thats why all the cores seem crazy. So the anger core was probably an emotion core in the beggining and the morality core was probably corrupted into not working...

Okay, I really appreciate you guys making ths. Usually people don't make stuff for Portal, they just make Half-Life stuff. The gameplay was great and the playermodels were good, even if their voices sounded a bit like the voice from Google Translate.

You made a great game, but I don't like what you did with GLaDOS. The voice is a bit... meh. And I don't like her weapons or dialoge. But you don't judge a whole game based on one thing you don't like. So good job! :)

The only explanation I could come up with is following: because GLaDOS was originally supposed to carry Caroline's complete personality, than I suppose they wanted to implement some sort of anger that was originally Caroline's to keep her personality complete.. I'm not saying it is something that was necessarily wise but I suppose that's what they did.

@lovelysushibear this is just a prelude. This takes place before Portal 1! When the testing in Apperture was actually watched over real scientists. On the last stage, you watch GLaDOS being activated and kill almost everyone in the facility. Thats when the Morality Core (that you see in Portal 1) is placed so she doesn't use neurotoxin anymore.

This prequel was mainly created so the Portal 1 players will know what actually happened before GLaDOS killed everyone in the facility

Also, if you read the Lab Rat comic that links Portal and Portal 2, it clearly states that within one picosecond of GLaDOS's activation, she started the neurotoxin emitter and locked everyone within the facility. Also, it was bring your daughter to work day. So, if Valve were to create a prelude to Portal, I'm sure they'll stick to the details.
