The cop was experiencing "fight or flight," the response by humans when facing a threatening situation. Part of being a good cop is demonstrating restraint under trying conditions. He could have demonstrated restraint by first approaching the management of the venue. The fact that he didn't clearly shows lack of good judgement as well as lack of restraint. Hurtt said there weren't complaints -- HPD's spin. I believe at least 15 witnesses went to City Council the Tuesday after the incident to bring it to their attention. An internal investigation began. So many people made statements that they even told a witness his statement wasn't needed. Sounded odd to me, especially since the witness saw a lot of the action. I think HPD misdirected some who wanted to make a complaint. A lot are outraged and have done more than say "saw it on YouTube."
