  • @hopefulbeef "Practically you stole the first part and the chorus" <--- huh? This is THE demo tune that comes with LMMS. I haven't modified it at all.

  • that was awesome..I also wanted to make my own but for now ill just browse more vids to learn..so far this vid that you made is the best av seen..

  • Great!

  • Painstakingly.

  • Hey there,

how do i connect it with jack or how i use jack?

My demos inside sound harsh .. no clue what's up with that. cuz would like to make sounds in the direction of paul van dyk and atb =) more like dream techno or however it's gonna be called =)

    Thanks

  • You would select JACK as the audio backend in LMMS settings.

LMMS developers seem to have emphasized the "out of the box" use of ALSA in LMMS, though. If you want to use JACK, make sure you have at least LMMS 0.4.6.

There aren't a lot of really "dreamy" sounds included with LMMS as presets; take a look at the ZynAddSubFX instrument. There are some downloadable parameters out there with excellent trance configurations.

  • K i got that running but if i want to play one of the including demo songs ..my jackserver kicks me off and i have trouble everytime?aNY CLUE what is wrong?

  • Could be a lot of things. Do other JACK apps work OK, like Ardour or RoseGarden? Also, try running LMMS with "gksudo LMMS" and see if that works better -- some have said it does.

  • @samragga try not using jack, try using alsa or pulseaudio. jack support of lmms is not perfect. you can also try putting the latency way up when using jack - it solves the problem for me for most of the time.

  • Very amazing example song. I was just listening to it and removing all the unneeded instrumentals.. and all thats left is a pretty sick beat.. thanks man!

  • That's really good! What synths are you using? And do you have any tips for using effects?

  • You're hearing a demo song that comes with LMMS. Why not download it and check out how it all works?

  • Too much Delay, but it's really cool!

  • wow ur realy good. much much bette then me.

i dont no how to make those custom sounds with the instrument input.

chec mine out, i put it as a ress=ponce the smiley face

  • Thanks, I really like it. Is it easy to install LMMS on Ubuntu?

  • Yep, it's in the regular software installer. You can install the latest-greatest version without too much work, too - just google "tobydox ppa" and you'll find it. There's a good help-link on the PPA page called "read about installing."

I'd recommend the PPA approach simply because the latest version of LMMS will have a lot of bug fixes and new features.

  • Hi, what's the name of the song?

  • The song is "Random Project Number 14253" by Skiessi, and it comes with LMMS as a demo song.

  • Skiessi - RandomProjectNumber14253

  • Awesome tunes. The halloween story do not know how to came into here but it is interesting.

    BTW good job!

  • I'm getting it...

    the sound is kool..

    Thanks..

  • I'm a new to it so how do use VST plugins in lmms on windows? I tried loading it but the thing just freezes everytime lol

  • I don't use it in windows, so I'm not sure...you might try the LMMS forums.

  • OK you've sold me on LMMS. I've flirted with Linux for home use for years but the dealbreaker in the past always was "audio" and the "gtk/kde war".

I understand LMMS also runs on the Micro$oft line of OS's but I'm in the process of purging the products from my home & office computers.

    Thanks for sharing!!!

  • Glad you enjoyed the video. Audio has indeed been a sticking point in the past, but support has improved greatly. Personally I've started buying pre-installed systems from vendors like Dell or ZaReason, and audio has always worked like a charm.

  • thanks for uploading this demosong in good audio quality, but dude ... I didn't want to hear this story.

  • "i don't remember his name, just the blood"

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

Is the C64 SID Emulator built into LMMS ?

  • The SID emulator being there depends on who compiled it...but it usually is included.

  • Thanks I'll check it out

  • OPEN SOURCE RULES !! this is almost the same than fruity loops my m8's !

  • sorry man =(

  • Where can I get LMMS for my apple?

  • Good question - I asked a developer for you. He said there are no ready-made Mac packages at the moment, so you'd have to download the source code and build it with XCode and Macports installed. Perhaps you can get help with it on a Mac forum if you don't understand what all of that means.

  • is LinuxSampler packaged?

  • Not enough arguments, please add details to your question and re-submit

  • nasty story dude.

  • Thanks!
