(con'd) as an afterthought, please allow me to add , i guess i assumed that when your clearance includes language such as, "V66, Mission Bay (MZB) that, at least as of that readback, I would guess 'your flying westbound after Haile, "TO"...Mission Bay VOR for a rwy 9 Approach to SAN..if i have this assumption incorrect, and it meant, Fly EAST at haile, ON the MZB Radial 076, for a rwy 27 set up ( which by all appearances, is exactly what you did) could you please set me straight. thank you
Clearance had V186 to Halie, then V66? to MZB? ( consulting So. Cal Sectional...) which is a MZB R-255 Crs. "TO" MZB, then maybe out to SARGS (IAF) yes? yet, at end of Vid, i'm hearing Female approach controller giving you several "Unfamiliar" headings, which Don't jibe with initial Clearance recieved, and what the Sectional Shows for that routing. i imagine then, that somewhere about here, in busy SAN Class B Airspace, things get "changed" rapidly? thanks for clarification Sir. :)
Great Video! I think I heard taxi into position and Roll? Or was that taxi into position and Hold? I couldn't really tell the difference....lol. Line up and wait....
I've begun using your "three green, mixtures set, props set for go around" call-out while flying the piper seminole, in addition to the other landing flow items I do earlier in the approach phase. It really helps to catch things when it's busy.
@goucv Not really... When you first start flying you do feel a bit overwhelmed, but once you get in the flow of how tings happen you get the hang of it.
@goucv I personally, like most other pilots, use a notepad to write down ATC instructions and frequencies I will need later in the flight. Makes remembering things much easier
hey Frank whats your secret ?cause the longer you fly the younger that you look

@drumdude46 A clearance assumes you'll loose radios. It sure would screw up the departures if you flew all the way to Mission Bay.

At first, I thought your plane looked a little strange. Then I realized it was a car. Silly me.

Is it difficult to remember all the ATC instructions? I'm afraid I would forget. Especially when there are many.
goucv 1 year ago
@goucv You wont forget thats why you always type what they said in case its too long so you dont forget.
