No it's not playable and probably never will be unless a new/Matrix Online 2 project is started (very sadly, yet I'm hopeful for a Matrix Online 2). Remember this is Sony we're talking about. They're suing a guy for breaking the security on a PS3, not so you could play pirated games, but because Sony removed the Other OS feature.

And it's not so much the fact that Sony won't lose money if someone makes a server... they just wont MAKE money, therefore no one else must be allowed to make money.

If you are talking about the emulator project ... it is still a work in progress by people doing this for free on thier own time. ;) In time we hope to have a working emulator but you will need to check with the folks in charge at mxoemu. At this point all you will be able to do is get the city up on your own computer with very little to do except wander around an empty city. For error messages you will need to talk to the folks at mxoemu. Sorry.

If someone put up a version of MxO I'd probably be there. I loved this game that much. I broke my heart to watch sony buy the property and then do NOTHING to promote it. And I do mean NOTHING!! I did more to promote the game than Sony did. How sad is that? lol.

Someone needs to make a fan/pirated server. I know it's illegal, but they should have made the game free to play with allowed donations or item packs you can purchase. one of the MANY MxO fans who can code needs to make it NOW.

I miss Matrix online and I paid to play it. But Sony won't lose money for a pirated MxO server because they aren't doing it anymore ANYWAY. Can we start a petition for some lazy coder to get off his butt and make this awesome idea a reality? If we dont do this SONT isnt!

Too bad they are shutting the game down on July 31.. They should have a free 2 play server up for the players that still play it, and have a form of Premium user subscription so that they can get some money from the fans that actually still want to play the game, instead of just scrapping the entire game. I know I would love to play it so that I could find out more about the story. Let us hope their will be a f2p servers for the hardcore fans and the ones who want's to try it out.

Since they decided to unplug the matrix online, they also decided to offer the game for free until July 31, 2009.

I sure do. While there were many many changes in Combat Revision 2.0 overall I think that combat is better in many aspects than in CR1.0. Most changes aren't even noticable to the players unless you examine the system chat. The animations didn't change except for a couple things. It's much faster now too. There are a few reviews out there but they are really hard to find sometimes. Game Reviewers pretty much ignore us.

The subscription fee is 15 dollars american a month. Or you can get the Station Pass from Sony Online Entertainment which lets you pay one fee for ALL thier online games. Like SWG, Planetside, The Matrix Online. It's a bit more than for one game but if you play two game it pays for itself.

Yeah. The upload time for new players is rather .. um .. long. But that's because there have been so many updates and additions to the original game. The number of updates MxO gets is pretty much unheard of in other games.
