@JUSTTHEBEST12 Don't worry. There's more to see in my next video. It was getting late and the weather was very windy and cold. I'm also making an effort to make shorter videos, since in the past, some of my videos went on too long because I talk too much while shooting and end up scrapping lots of footage. I'm experimenting with new production equipment and editing styles.
@erniesbudolab welll i love how the video was shot but i really do prefer longer videos i also enjoy listening 2 you talk your just a great talker and thanks again ernie
do you know how to make and properly maintain a katana or are you just using all your weapon maintenance skills from all your years of martial arts to restor this sword back to its former glory?
@MrNath5150 I'm not a blacksmith and don't know how to forge steel. I have experience with sharpening, honing, and maintaining combat knives (Filipino martial arts and military training). I wouldn't call this project a true "restoration". The steel is just severely blemished. It doesn't need straightening, re-honing, or sharpening. This type of maintenance would be common for people that do a lot of "backyard cutting".
@erniesbudolab cool Military traning wow so you used be in the army or as americans say in the service. what was your regiment or what did you do if you don't mind me asking?
So how do you get the moisture out of the Saya so this is avoided in the future?
traceydeanrainey 2 months ago
@traceydeanrainey Since the saya is made of wood, there will always be some moisture in there. The key is maintain the blade on a regular basis.

dnt sand with water that why it stains in first place
41iou 2 months ago
@41iou Water was used when making the sword. Nothing wrong with using water to remove stains. I oiled the blade afterwards.

@Cokecanninja My friend gave up sword collecting because it was "too much work". These swords now belong to me, for free. Pretty nice haul, huh?

@erniesbudolab wait a second, you got a set of BUGEI for FREE O.o... why can't I ever have that kind of luck
warlord1121 4 months ago
That's why you oil your swords monthly, at least. Some people oil them weekly.

@JUSTTHEBEST12 Actually, I'm a horrible talker. haha. I had to script myself in order to prevent babbling on. But, thanks for the positive feedback.
