@stegst140 No, what happened was they created an alternate timeline. In one timeline the T-800 and T-1000 were never sent back and Judgement Day proceeded as Reese predicted. In the other timeline T2 happened and they managed to prevent Judgement Day in the future of that timeline. John still existed because his father came from a separate timeline unaffected by their actions. Its not a single line, its more like a zigzag. They keep sending stuff back but it just starts new timelines.

@headcaseman T2 remains the best, and T3 and T4 could have been decent. The huge fuckup in 3 was the scene in the garage near the plane in 3, which they did to make him seem more human. Bad bad call. The minor sideplot with Bloodgood falling in love with a terminator and sleeping with him in T4 was another huge huge huge mistake. Beginscene, return to Skynet Central scene, final scene, and a few more with Worthington were very bad additions inspired by the the abysmal Sarah Connor Cronichles.

T4 salvation was horrible- post apocalyptic? yeah right. It looked like an x-treme sports event. The short apocalpytic scenes displayed in T-1 Kyle Reese's memories and T-2 intro were more scary than all the post-apocalyptic scenes in T-4 Salvation. Some of the machine concepts in T-4 , were quite unecessary

If the future war didnt occur, then Kyle Reese wont have to be sent back through time and John wont not exist. A temporal paradox....
