i think minus allergies and sound problems, and if maiden had tuned down to D/C the blaze version would sound better than bruce. blazes voice is naturally more metal and gritty whilst bruce hits the note its whiny and it sounds horrible nowadays when he looks like hes spazzing out trying to hit the chorus of the talisman

Blaze Bayley is a good singer, you can't fault him for that. Although his best Iron Maiden songs are the ones he sung originally. Blaze's vocal range is a lot lower than Bruces so the high notes on Bruce's songs, like this, sound not as good. I'm sorry Mr. Bayley but as awesome as you are, your voice can't beat Bruce's

Blaze doesn't suite Dickinson songs but for what he was dealing with, a lower voice and not being near the singer Bruce is, as well as an uppity paced frilly drummer, he did a pretty good job. He would have had alot easier time if Clive were on the drums. Even Bruce had trouble adjusting to the bands timing with Nicko on drums. Watch Beast Over Hammersmith then watch Live After Death. Nicko forces Bruce to sing lyrics that were tough in the first place as if he were speed reading.

dickinson apparently has a far larger range but they need to tune up for when he does blaze songs,

Hes a good vocalist no doubt, but he just didn't fit Iron Maiden. The same for Paul, Iron Maiden was phenomenal during these eras, but it just doesn't feel right if that makes sense. I'm not dissing Blaze or Paul by any means, but they just don't fit for Iron Maiden. Bruce and Iron Maiden go hand in hand.

blaze really did this one nice. i mean,he has a completely different voice and singing style than dickinson and we all couldn't imagine hearing trooper without bruce's voice, but blaze managed to do this great.
