  • vladimir is small and cute like a doll

  • She is directing the orchestra !!!!

  • Why do these commentaries always descend into sexism? This is a delightful piece of music performed by an immensely talented PERSON

  • this movement maybe is too fast for my taste!!! it should be shower!!!

  • @MyTunerLock yeah it definitely is a little bit too fast! but beautiful nevertheless. It was perfect tempo today when I heard it played by Anne Sophie Mutter & the NY philharmonic @ the Lincoln Center.

She played it with even more emotion than this one! Yet still graceful and elegant as Mozart would love. I wish it was recorded on video to put on youtube! The part with the underwater sweeping strings that rise and fall is pure goosebumps!

  • @CognosSquare why are you so far from the asylum?

  • @CognosSquare that is so sexist....

  • @CognosSquare Kicking your bottom.

  • Very beautiful loved her playing this piece. My only coment is "Why does she have to play it so fast? I like to hear all of the notes." Still one of m favorite pieces by Mozart.

  • Beautiful! I love it, thanks.

  • Nice tits!!

  • Wonderfull!!!

  • they should make this into a rockband video game!

  • Many thanks to CaptainWiggles01. She just towers over Ashkenazy and most all of the conductors she works with. Quite a presence.

To me, the best, most complete violinist to come along in the last 25 years--or more!

  • Has anyone even seen Ms. Jansen perform live--or met her? She seems to be very tall!

I am a big fan of hers. A marvelous deserving star of the new generation

  • saw her live in melbourne a few months back playing saint-saens violin concerto, she is very tall i would guess around 6.1 maybe a bit taller, and also an amazing violinist best ive seen all year!

  • am i the only one enjoying this

  • Not at all. Some people are simply jealous of Janine and the youth orchestra. I have heard everal versions of this concerto and this is my favourate.

  • Being an ex-critic unfortunately means nothing to me. Sorry for not being impressed. God never said we should or should not appluad between movements, it's only your idea which carries little weight as far as I am concern because I am also a critic, so what? Big deal.

  • Haha how conventional can you get? Not applaud between movements? (it's called SPONTANEITY. A sign you are ALIVE.) (and not mummified.) You see Janine or Ashkenazy frowning at the audience? (of course not.) I would have applauded too. Janine is the best violinist I have heard for decades! (when I was young they didn't applaud at church concerts ever. Thank God they have abadoned this stupid custome.)

    Greetings from Swedish ex-music-critic

  • Que bien está el concierto con esta estupenda violinista.

    Saludos desde Querétaro, México

  • wow, you guys are borderline crazy. why cant we all just listen to it and love it? isn't music abou connecting with others, eith out all the shit from the past, present, and most likely future? anyways, this is beautifully played, janine did a good job, as always

  • I see your from Hong Kong. The worst thing we Britts did was to give Hong Kong back to the Chinese. You lot can now say what the hell you like about us! We should have Nuked you lot after we handed you back Hong Kong.

BTW. I'm only taking the piss :)

  • Comment removed

  • I should really have said handed back HK . Your're Fench as welll,as American ! My god yourre a glutten for punishment! ,you frogs never got over the battle of Waterloo.

  • It's true you have got no sense of humour. It must be a night mare having a night on the piss with someone like you. I would imagine that everyone would have political correctness rammed down their throats. At least you could have called me a roast beef head. Perhaps you just can't grasp satire? It's ment to be just a banter . E.g. Just like all Assies are decendents of bloody theves. But I have to admit Austrialia is the best open prison in the world.

  • what you guys talking about ? been catching some sun with the algerian army near tindouf if you know

  • Beautiful! So charming, so graceful.

  • Usually the audience doesn't applaud between movements and waits for the finale, and then gives the applause. Maybe the love it so much that they applaud after every movement !

  • in my opinion, a lot of people with money to pay tikets 4 concerts like this don't know anything about classic music!

  • You certainly don't know anything about classical music. This was only one part of the entire nights performances in order to give youngsters experience. I suspect your a jealous musician who never really made the grade!

  • before saying fucking things like this please study only 1 year classic music, i've studied it from 10 years and i play in all my country and in europe! u r jealous, please be better!

  • Celestial playing! Mozart would have loved it.

  • I dont know much from this kind of music, but I think it is beautifull and beautifully played. And how do you know how it must be played? Just listen to this great music!

  • I don't know what everybody's talking about when it comes to her "not following Mozart's markings". I am positive after hearing her play that she is playing off of the Barenreiter edition, since these markings are in there, and that the way she plays the grace notes in the opening, is consistent with the original score. My teacher constantly refers to the original score (he has a copy in Mozart's handrwriting), so those of you used to the typical Joachim markings will be surprised.

  • Thanks for that very useful comment. I will try and check it out.

  • esto me recuerda a la infancia de mozart

  • after a few hearings - it is most pedestrian performance

violinist pays little attention to Mozart markings which

would have made all the difference ,conductor is of no help...I suppose her stage mannerisms are meant to convey she responds to the work - it is the modern manner- "look how hard I'm working "- visual playing

    rather than musical.

  • Do we not have a modern day perversion that musicians in the past were some how superior to the musicians of today. Mozart in my opinion would have give this performance his blessing.

  • Not really, quite the opposite in fact- DrMontague

knows that Mozart would have liked this performance -implies knowing Mozart himself and being able to speak to Mozarts' taste, is indeed amazing The rest of

us have only the musical score to go by .

  • Ok I agree I cannot prove my previous statement but neither can we say Mozart might have disapproved this performance. Music as with any other art form is a subjective medium. I have argued else where that I have another video of the concerto, the soloist is Gidon Kremer, however I prefer this performance as the music seems to flow more smoothly.

  • Fair enough .But we do play in the 21st century

which is worlds away from what Mozart heard, gut strings ,which did not allow for a too fast an

allego, and pitch which is a world of difference

at 380 to 400.The opening here was played with

little insight, which caused the rest to follow in a pedestrian manner .I don't know

    the Kremer performance .

  • she plays too soft and without a hint of vigor at all for my taste.

  • its played very well, but anyway... its too sweetish! and i donot like this moving around... but i wouldnt have noticed that this is a youth orchestra! - oh, its ok, but not my favourite!

  • that conductor seems lesnie nielsen, hahahahahah

  • preety third movement cadenzas, do ya know who's composers?¿?

  • cute conductor lol

  • please share these files.

  • Im what way? I'm sharing them on YouTube

  • ARES or FTP?

  • Enlighten me. I still don't grasp what your getting at. You can download these files as flivs.

  • lol, Ashkenazy makes me laugh at 1:43-1:48

  • me too, haha....

  • Vladimir Ashkenazy is the conductor, Janine Janse the violinist.
