  • Sounds nice... Good job.

  • I think this is probably my favorite cover on this song. This is a fairly unknown song by Neil Young and I really like it. I especially like the full sound of your 12 string accoustic. I'll be listening to some of your other covers, after hearing this one. A terrific job on a great song.

  • @garynjo92 Thanks so much for that. It is a great song.

  • Wow! You make it look so easy. I can't strum the way you do. I'm trying to pick for this entire song. I love your cover! You're amazing!

  • @bluzshadez Thanks alot for that. This is just a hobby for me, but I have had a lot of fun with it over the years, and learned a lot from watching people on YouTube.

  • Good job dude!!! Nice voice, great sounding guitar. Thanks for posting this video. I now know how to play it...correctly!!

  • You're welcome to it, mate. That's what this is all about. I wish I had so many people to watch when I was learning.

  • hai. I am from Holland can you explain de strumming pattren. Great song

  • Is there anyway you want to quickly explain the pull off and hammer ons that you do one the G chord? Looks like you are just switching your first and fourth finger but would like some clarification. Thanks in advance

  • Happy to hear you again. I was listening to another song of yours the other day. You're very good and one of my favorite singers on You Tube.

  • This is great.. by far the best copy... I love this song...my tribute to my late brother, Jun. Thanks for your rendition, Leilanirocks!

  • ok...

Now play some Four Year Strong!

    Seriously...

  • Awesomeeeee!!! Love the gee tar!

  • great job and nice sounding 12!

  • I saw ian and sylvia sing this song in london back in 1966 back when we was fab The next day i went up to canada house to see if i could emigrate to this alberta,im glad i did.Fourty years later i am still here, a wonderful country a wonderful people, and bloody great song writers. thanks for a great job a dave calgary

  • You were lucky to see them too... I made it up to Calgary in 2001 and enjoyed my time in the area very much. Thanks.

  • Great Job on a cool song. That Washburn sounds awesome. I have never owned a 12,but am thinking about one.

Check my uploads out if ya' want.

  • Thanks. Maybe I will tune it up again sometime!

  • Looking around for som Neil Young today and I was fortunate enough to come across your cover. Thanks for putting this here; this is one of my all-time favorite songs.

  • Thanks man.

  • Nice job!

  • Thanks alot!

  • Brilliant cover awsome voice and great sounding 12 string hello from Alberta RoXOn

  • Hey there up in Alberta. I enjoyed my stay there a few years back. This is one of the best songs there is.

  • lllll

  • great job

  • The song begs to be played on a 12 string and you've done a very fine cover of it. I just bought a Washburn 12 string and, well, had a strum along with you!

  • Great! Mine's a Washburn too...glad you could strum along with me. Wow...24 strings to play only Four Strong Winds ;o)

  • Such a great song.. You do a very great version! *****

  • Thanks. Yes...what a song.

  • Excellent! Love this song, and you did a great job on it, one of the best covers I've heard. Hard to keep that 12-string in tune huh? Well, you made it through nicely. Thanks for sharing.

  • Yeah, it is kind of tough...seems a lot of times like it is out of tune by the end of a 3 minute song!

  • ended up using mine as a 6 string, Being that the fret board is ususally wider than normal 6string acoustic guitars, it was good as in training my fingers. sounds great

  • I love Alberta. You make me think of home. thanks

  • Yeah. A lot to love up there. I enjoyed my short time there very much too.

  • Great rendition, it's hard to pull off a Neil song and you did awesome!

  • Thanks alot.

  • good stuff man, prairie wind rules, well neil young rules, and good cover.....

  • you have a beautiful voice man!

  • I miss my twelve string now , thanx, lol

  • Your Voice is Lovely~ Excellent Cover.. superb!

  • Thanks, Annie! It's one of my favorite tunes.

  • Very nice...I think you've got the greatest voice...I too have been moved by this song since the first time I heard Neil sing it. I must've heard it before that since it's been recorded so much, but Neil won me over.

  • Yeah, heard it over and over on an 8-track in my uncle's Satellite back in the day. Whole album was great.

  • Great performance! I play this song too with different chords. Love this old song.

  • Thanks alot, Gil. I commented on yours too.

  • About this old song...what a song this is. This is a song that haunts me and tempts me to play it almost every time I pick up a guitar. Doesn't matter how you play it, what you throw at it... it is such a solid piece that it pulls you in everytime.

  • Very good version LeilaniRocks,awesome!!

  • Thanks so much. I have always loved this tune.

  • Wow awesome job on this song, I love your 12 string guitar. I met Ian Tyson here in Ottawa a couple of years ago and I told him how much I liked four strong winds.

    rocket

  • Cool man. Nothing like getting to meet your guitar heroes. What's he like?

  • Ian Tyson is just a super down to earth guy with a wicked sense of humor. He really is a cowboy and has a ranch out in Alberta.

    Rocket

  • Awesome. Saw my first bear(s) and me and my girlfriend at the time nearly got trampled by two huge moose up in Alberta. Up by Lake Malign. Was beautiful up there...but she never understood that we were no longer at the top of the food chain around those parts! She learned...

  • lol yes the wildlife in Jasper National Park is awesome. Lake Maligne is beautiful. We have Moose and bears here Not too far from the city of Ottawa In a large area we call the Ottawa Valley. I have had to hit my brakes a few times when a moose was standing in the middle of the road.

    Rob

  • Excellent. Love the sound of your 12 string really suits the song. And you're singing is super.

  • Thanks alot. Guess it was worth the extra work afterall!

  • I hear you on the tunning part of the 12 string, drives me crazy sometimes!..very nicely done

  • Thanks for sharing my pain, man!

  • very nice!!!

  • Thanks alot!

  • whao!thats amazing singing, i mean you really got a great voice , reminds me of john denver.=)

  • Wow! Thanks so much. I really like John Denver. My wife has me on a project now to learn the Chinese song you sang... that should be...interesting.

  • rockin mate, good stuff

  • Thanks man. Good to see we are still on speaking terms... ;o)

  • Love the sound that guitar projects. 12 Stringers are a singers best friend and you prove that with this great song! Make this a favorite.

    Pat & Nic :o) :o)

  • Yeah, that is why I spent the 3 hours tuning and dusted it off. I really like the sound for a tune like this. Thanks for the favorite. You guys last tune was really cool.

  • Immense guitar sound! I think you narrowly won the battle over it! Nice song cover. It's hard to keep those 12-stringers in tune!

  • Thanks man. Well put...I barely got by those 12 strings. Like having a strong wind accompanying you...

  • Guitar sounded full! Haven't visited in awhile- school stuff, but I wanted to drop by and say hi.

    Syd

  • Glad to hear from you, Syd. Yeah, almost had to scream over the 12-string just to be heard. Was even trying to strum softly...
