  • As the government tramples on religious liberties forcing Catholic institutions to carry insurance covering abortions and the pill...As the judicial activists overrule the will of the people on marriage twice in California...Annie, get your gunpowder.

  • Now, as our nations government turns to fascism, as our own government opresses the rights of people. We the people need this song more than ever as we will need to stand up to this tyranny.

  • @heartfire451 Amen

  • @heartfire451 blatant exaggeration

  • @squirell1952 The tune, first used in 1854, was "Canaan's Happy Shore". The original song lyrics were "John Brown's Body" and were written in 1860; parts of the tune predate the entire song dating back to the 1830s, but certainly not to the English Civil War (1642-1651). Incidentally, Charles I was monarch at the time; Queen Victoria ruled from 1838 to 1901. Hundreds of variations on the lyrics exist, in several languages. The standard lyrics were written by Julia Ward Howe in 1861

  • Our Nation under God let our armies do his bidding.

  • they died for us, a tribute to all soldiers neither friend nor foe :)

  • God be with all defenders of truth, beauty, women and bumble bees.

  • Freedom and Truth only come through violence....those that wish to steal our freedom and kill us must first be killed....this is the only way that Freedom and democracy as been born.

  • I'm gonna say it again. WOW!

  • Uh.......WOW!

  • No American who has been faithfully putting forth his best effort in his own free will doing what he or she loves has ever died in vain. This not only includes our soldiers, marines and sailors, but also our lost brothers, sisters, fathers and mothers who died in enemy attacks or even just in the course of their normal lives. The only ones who have ever died or will ever die in vain are the ones who die trying to destroy what this country is. I plan on keeping it that way.

  • "As he died to make men holy let us live to make men free"

3rd Verse - Battle Hymn of the Republic

  • @myeyepie This line was changed by the Mormons, to make it Mormon-ly sweet. A disgrace! The correct line is: "As he died to make men holy let us die to make men free". I hate when the Mormons "bastardize" great pieces of music to fit their liking.

  • Fantastic.

The Mormon Tabernacle Choir's rendition of this piece is the best and your video showing in conjuction was very moving.

    Very well done!
