Of course there are periods in history where temperatures were higher than today's and higher that during Leif Eriksson's time. You are referring to cycles of warm climates, we the problem is that today's warming weather is not within the warming cycle. Polar bears are NOT marine mammals, they are born on land, live on land and die on land. They swim in search of food and not to 'hang out' as you and I would do on land. Polar bears need that ice to live on, they also use ice to travel and find their mates. Bears mating in the ocean is out of a question.
Learn about the animal, a bear is not just a fish in a tank, it is a complex creature with complex habits. Just because the ice looks white and plain to you, doesn't mean it does to the bear.

I'm gonna have to disagree with you about the Marine mammal issue. Although most scientists regard them as marine mammals, they evolved and adapted on land, which makes them land mammals. They reproduce and deliver young bears on land (or ice). This is the same type of argument you would make for Pluto which never was a planet to begin with.

We also produce a plethora of other, far more permanent and harmful greenhouse gases, including sulfur dioxide.
We are also not the only ones doing so.
For example, in 1980, Mt St. Helens in Washington state erupted, pouring about 4 times more noxious greenhouse gasses into the atmosphere IN ONE DAY than all of mankind has since the industrial revolution.

see the facts: 2 years ago fishing ships have found dead bodys of ice bears floating around in the water, in a area where there was no ground or hard ice for hundreds of miles.
And polar bears can't swim forever. On top of that there is no food or water to drink in the open ocean for them.

The fact that at a particular time in history, the climate is warmer than today's is irrelevant. Of course there are periods in history where temperatures were higher than today's and higher that during Leif Eriksson's time. You are referring to cycles of warm climates, we the problem is that today's warming weather is not within the warming cycle. Carbon emissions DO warm the climate, the ozone hole in the south pole is not science fiction, it IS caused by CFC emissions among others...

Polar bears are NOT marine mammals, they are born on land, live on land and die on land. They swim in search of food and not to 'hang out' as you and I would do on land. Polar bears need that ice to live on, they also use ice to travel and find their mates. Bears mating in the ocean is out of a question.
Learn about the animal, a bear is not just a fish in a tank, it is a complex creature with complex habits. Just because the ice looks white and plain to you, doesn't mean it does to the bear.

I'm gonna have to disagree with you about the Marine mammal issue. Although most scientists regard them as marine mammals, they evolved and adapted on land, which makes them land mammals. They reproduce and deliver young bears on land (or ice). This is the same type of argument you would make for Pluto which never was a planet to begin with.

I guess combustion engine cars don't polute. they don't produce CO2 and CO2 hasn't risen over the last 100 years and CO2 is not a greenhouse gas of any significance. and the temperature hasn't increased and things are not melting. we were just wrong. oil isn't running out either and China and India aren't growing economies of poluters 3 times as big as europe and USA combined. phew, good thing the oil companies are here to protect us from the liars.

Actually, it kind of is. See, Global warming alarmists are structured more like a fanatical religion than anything else.
Their beliefs are based in faith and emotion, with little regard for critical thought, especially regarding dissenters, who are simply shouted down and dismissed as insane, evil or irrelevant. Because, Dan, if you had even the simplest grasp of the actual science involved, you'd know that CO2 levels increase FOLLOWING a warming cycle, not preceding them.
Or that, as a greenhouse gas, CO2 is on the bottom of the stack of potentially responsible agents.
Or that all "temperature increases" are, at this point, strictly extrapolations that are based on only a few decades worth of observances, which aren't necessarily accurate...
But hey... damn the science! As long as the MESSAGE is good!

By the way, Dan, I suggest you also research the urban curve used in climate change "science".
That is, that most global warming alarmists are basing their conclusions (read; extrapolations) on research not even intended for that purpose.
That is, a good portion of their temperature readings were taken, over the years, in URBAN areas. (Gee, you think NYC might be a little warmer than the countryside?)
The point is, the "consensus" among scientists is an alarmist fallacy.

Yes, CO2 is a greenhouse gas. Yes, we produce it.
We also produce a plethora of other, far more permanent and harmful greenhouse gases, including sulfur dioxide.
We are also not the only ones doing so.
For example, in 1980, Mt St. Helens in Washington state erupted, pouring about 4 times more noxious greenhouse gasses into the atmosphere IN ONE DAY than all of mankind has since the industrial revolution.

As for aerosols versus greenhouse gases... Dan, you do know that greenhouse gases ARE aerosols, right?
Volcanic aerosols are comprised largely of gases such as CO2, sulfur dioxide, hydrogen chloride, hydrogen bromide, nitrogen oxide, sulfur hexafluoride and carbonyl sulfide, as well as methyl mercury, halogen oxide radicals and other greenhouse affecting CFC's.

greenhouse gases are not aerosols. and aerosols are certainly not greenhouse gases.
aerosol is defined as solid or liquid particles in gas. unless bitching cold that makes it hard for CO2 to be an aerosol.

Moreover, CO2 increase in the atmosphere can't be explained only by volcanoes, since the eruptions did not increase in the same ratio. The argument of volcanoes being the responsible ones deviate the focus of human guilt. Volcanoes are also responsible, but we contribute for the increase of the greenhouse effect.

(1) Polar Bears are not suffering.
(2) Studies on Polar Bear numbers show that they are and have been steady or INCREASING over the past 10 years.
(3) Polar Bears survived the last global warming when tempatures were warmer then they currently are.

What I see in this video is a try of people, to get out of their responsibility as humans.
I don't think anyone can doubt that our environment politics and behaviour are two major points in the hole thing of global warming. These picture may be faked. But there are more pictures, that people never have seen. And maybe we aren't realy guilty for this. But its damn sure that we have the possibility. and so the duty to change things.
