Im steve a type 1 diabetic from london, england i have had diabetes since i was nine (since 1968) im now 51, have just changed to human insulin from porcine insulin in the last couple of weeks have never had level blood sugers was on 2 injections a day now on five so they are putting me on an omnipod hopefully shortly as now have complications, i loved my windsurfing been doing this for about 25 years but really cant do this anymore, your videos make me smile, shud be on omnipod shortly
thank you im not the only one that hates the way it's pronounced and even doctors say it the way we hate it said. here's the thing though it's a latin word.
What sucks most for me being diabetic is losing weight. I am about 30 lbs overweight and it isn't easy for me to lose weight and I've been exercising atleast 3 times a week for atleast 3 miles each time and trying to eat relatively healthy. BTW, I have type 2, so I take a pill.
I completely agree. It is not easy. Especially alone. You really need the help of doctors for insulin/medicine adjustments and educators for meal planning. Plus not to mention you have to check your sugars on a tight schedule and stick to it. NOT A WALK IN THE PARK. That is something that frustrates me as well.
Because I have slow digestion and if I want to take a shot before a meal, if I'm below about 100, I go hypo before the food kicks in. I don't want Apidra for my meals. I would kind of like it for corrections, but do I really want to have three insulins? Also Apidra goes bad more easily.
Oh the rumors you hear. Apidra goes BAD... not for me. Never has, neither has Novolog or Humalog for that matter.
Apidra for your meals might make you drop even QUICKER!!! More of Apidra's insulin is released or absorbed up front. It might actually be a problem for you. Good for your corrections because you will get to your target BG much quicker. You would have to make some "small" and I do mean small adjustments for Apirda. Thanks for your comments always :-)

Oh. Not a walk in the park, no pun intended, haha. Well, like I said, I have type 2, so I don't have to take insulin, but it's still not easy.
