I laughed when you mentioned Omarion's critique on Hype and was like "WTF?" Yea I agreed when you said that Omarion was confusing them because "giving more energy" doesn't really help. He's an entertainer and not a choreographer so I guess you can't really fault him for stepping in when they needed someone to fill shoes as big as Shane's in such a short amount of time.

@TheLuckAndLove I don't think so. It seems to me like once the crew makes it onto the show there's no chance of that same crew participating again. However, it seems like dancers can come up with a new crew and then audition again but it has to be under a new name like we saw with Legendary 7 who two of the members were in Status Quo back in season 1.

It's ironic that Omarion has more dancing and hip hop choreo experience than both Lil Mama and JC but he can't judge to save his life, JC can judge but he doesn't have enough experience in the hip hop scene to talk big like he usually does, and then Lil Mama just talks about what excited her in the performance the most but she lacks more experience than JC to criticize the crews but thankfully she rarely does this unlike JC.

I totally agree about Saltare. They are an excellent jump roping crew, but really? It's called America's Best DANCE Crew for a reason. If they don't have their ropes, Saltare can't dance worth a crap. Too bad though, cause if they could that would be simply amazing :)

the judges (though they won't admit out loud) want "hip-hop Choreo"

Saltare (i don't really like them much) lack greatly in this... but they do dance.

in my terms, if there's movement and musicality then i claim dancing.

Jump roping + Musicality = type of dance

ABDC = Best "hip-hop" choreo crew :/

When it comes down the words "dance crew" you really can't think of people who specialize in tango, salsa, passe double, ect. So, it is first and foremost a hip hop show. But, we've seen that other styles are welcomed. Whether they're accepted by America or not is another question.

Though the producers really do encourage diversity (we've seen much of this the past couple seasons) it's up to America to prepare themselve for it. Most of the time, they just aren't ready.

If you remember Iconic or Icon-something from season one. They were a great crew but since it was the first season people just couldn't get it and they were cast aside by many viewers.

I don't think it's that America isn't ready for a crew that isn't hip hop, is because you can't give America a new style and be halfway decent. I mean you really gotta blow us away every week and if you don't then you're gonna go home.

As for Iconic, they were good no doubt but they didn't have that wow factor that made the audience want to vote for them. But, then again you had SQ, Jabba, Kaba, Fysh, and Breaksk8... they were bound to get lost in the mist of all those great crews.

Now, it may seem like ABDC started all about Hip Hop but it's slowly be peeling away that layer. So, as new seasons come we're gonna start seeing it being less about hip hop. But, it will always highlight hip hop since that's their foundation.

@taizuke I agree with the hip-hop. I mean, nowadays, Hip-hop is boring compared to Pop. I also, think that's why BP lost. BP is more like a hip-hop crew because they don't go crazy, they don't flip most of the time. I'm always seeing negative comments about BP saying, "Their so boring." Well it's because they're a hip-hop crew. BP's GaGa challenge was so GaGa, they should've won. But thankfully they at least were in the finale.

Totally agree with you on everything. I'm on the west coast but I think the east coast is definitely bringing it. Especially after this episode Blueprint Crew was my favorite. Static Noize was awesome as well.

Is it bad that I don't bother to watch Saltare's performance? This crew is like Dynamic Edition from season 3 imo. Very unique style but clearly the underdog.

Voting error? LOL...surprised it hadn't happened in past seasons.

Oh yes, and I think Heavy Impact and Saltare should be going home next week. Hype, Jungle Boogie, and Static are Top 5 material, I don't understand why they were in the suggestions of the eliminated crews by bloggers, viewers, and youtubers.

Extra notes:

JC apologizing to Hype 5-0 and Omarion was an odd first. I want Poreotix to do well because people have big expectations. Even though their one of my favorites, I have crazy mixed feelings about them winning. I wanted Jungle Boogie to have some animal theme in their routine; I might have heard an owl but I don't know. I'm nervous for the crews since next show is a double elimination. Also, I agree that Omarion isn't as good of a judge as Shane was.

I liked Hype 5-0's usage of their hands. I think their formations are getting a little repetitive. The doll and heartbeat were nice moments.

Poreotix's dance was cool. They can make freestyles work. I saw the reps for the other crews. (I wonder if the use of the crutches was a homage to Saltare?)

Speaking of Saltare, they redeemed themselves with this performance. Their individuals jumping was niiiice! The rope-free part was a little amateur.

Here's my two cents:

With Static Noyze I liked the wackyness of it. I have to say it seems like the energy was lower than before and a little claustrophobic at times.

I really liked Blueprint's dance. It had good spooky theatrics.

I had noticed that the one guy had missed a move so he was early in Jungle Boogie's dance. I see he brought his twist move that we saw in a preview for regionals.

Heavy Impact was ok. They had nice usage of the poles. I would have liked to see better staff handling.

Hey Tazuke!

What's going on? Great review as usual. Here's my take:

Static Noyze - Pretty good performance. I was surprised that one of the guys was dressed liek Gaga.

Bluprint Cru - Great performance by them. The part where ole girl was lifted by the neck was great, concerning, but great. Totally embodied Gaga

Jungle Boogie - It was a pretty good performance. I could have done without the excessive grinding, but overall it was pretty good performance.

Heavy Impact - It was an OK

Hype 5-0 - I liked this performance. I liked the beginning where one of the girls was a 10 foot tall woman. Very Gaga-esque.

Poreotix - Great performance by them, better than last week's performance. It was cute from beginning to end. I had to watch it twice and 3 times to catch

Saltare - It was an OK performance. I think that them dancing w/o their ropes seemed a little weird to me. I don't think they needed to

On alot of stuff usally i agree with you. But i think hi five o had the worst performance of the night. I do think bluprint crew had the best and if they keep dancing like that they will win cause they are so clean and always been. Besides the fall from TL. Didnt like them in the bottom last week or didnt like Royal flush in the bottom. Think heavy impact and high five o should have been. Heavy impact should have went home last week.

as soon as i saw blueprints costumes in the pre-interview i knew they were gonna kill this Gaga challenge, and they did better than i thought. I did enjoy hypes opening, but, i wish they broke formation before they dropped the huge dress so as to keep a sense of illusion. their routine could have been more Gaga, other than the opening of course.

HI tried but it wasnt there. Saltare also tried, but the difference was their tricks. with that said i think they might skate through next week

Poreotix brought gaga and thats what the challenge was. the reverse tut was hot. and the routine was solid. JB wasnt rewally in tune with it this week thus the sloppy performance, they will do better next week. Peters performance was a lil too good, like he plays baby gaga alot. Hmmm.

I thought Poreotix did an amazing job! My favorite part was the shout outs to all the crews...watch the routine again and see how Dumbo and Law threw out crew signs while jumping over the crutches. Stupid MTV camera angles.

Honestly when BJ had got out of synch I didn't notice until after the per. I thoguht that section where he messed up was actually a ripple. It seemed like he was doing the right moves but started off from the right while everyone else started from the left.

I have to agree with everyone on Saltare, they don't feel like a dance crew, this really showed this episode and the one before, their choreo is really loose and.. well.. terribly executed. It feels more like they try to sync their tricks with the music, not 'feel' or go with the music. That is the point of dancing after all. They're cool and all(in their own way) but I think they should go...

I mean out of all the things they chose the hand movements which they already do in every do in every performance (not saying it wasn't clean..). Anyway it was still a good performance and all they need to do is keep it up

Heavy Impact-They are slowly loosing their groove. Their was none of it in this episode. They are a jazz crew and I think they havea hard time grooving to anything that's not jazz. I didn't think this was mediocre but they can do better.

The only reason I didn't completely turn them aside was because of the tricks (That part where they were sitting down jumping was DOPE). It doesn't matter though I want them to come harder next week or they can just go home.

I agree that he brings credibility to the panel as a dancer. But as you pointed out JC isnt a true dancer and yet he explains what the crews either did good or shows what they messed up on. Omarion doesnt critique the routines, he is more of a viewer with an opinion. We shouldnt expect blood from a rock. time to realize this is what we can expect in the future.

Bluprint did have the best performance that night but I don't want to say best performance of the season only because it has only just begun! Poreotics had the second best performance in my opinion and how they ended was brilliant, I really want them to wow JC kind of how they did in the regionals but pushing it to the next level. We'll see how it is disco week, oh and taizuke they do want incorporate the 'tick tick tick' somehow, hopefully they'll be able to
