I adopted my dogs because THEY picked ME. Sounds like you are just shopping for an item, not a living thing. Every dog needs a chance and some to give them a chance. Sad truth is many of the dogs she described won't be looked at twice, then put to sleep while the easily adoptable ones will go fats.. and the others would have made awesome pets, with some compassion.
have just recently adopted 3 Pugs 1 black 2 Tan the 1 black was born with no tail, and sadly currently has a brain tumor but I'm fighting for Her! Please like and thumbs up if you will prey for Lousie:)
if you want a good dog that will never let you down, pick up the oldest one you see. the young ones will easily get adopted. i hate how people want all these pure-bred dogs from breeders, when thee are animal shelters packed full. who cares if its a mutt? its still smart and it has feelings. mutts always make the most loyal dogs.
i would choose the sickliest one. if you can afford it they give you tons of love. even if its condition is bad enough at least its living out its last couple of years in a loving home.
So, does it mean that you shouldn't adopt the ones that have special needs and stuff like that? =/ I adopted a cat at my local non-kill shelter, who had a broken tail in her past and has asthma and eye problems, but she is still living today. People focus to much on how old the pet is and if its healthy, leaving the ones who are not perfect unadoptable. I think all animals deserve a chance to be adopted.
@edwardelric2020 What she meant is to consider their health because it would be unfair to the animal to adopt it simply because you pitty them. People that do that end up giving the dog away again because they realize that they can't handle or don't have the time for taking care of animals with special needs. That doesn't mean that those animals with health problems shouldn't be adopted, it just means that they need to be giving a home that will have the time and patience for the animals needs

i would only get a dog from a breeder if i wanted a dog that would be the least likely to have health issues.

@edwardelric2020 i think the video is just saying that it also depends on ur financial ability.
if u cannot pay to treat ur pet, u shouldn't adopt a pet that needs constant treatment.
