nice with your personal touch. I learned this tune 20 years ago from my guitar teacher and was blown away with the structure of the song. Keep on picking dude you have nice touch.
OK, that's it ! I'm gonna sell all my gear and become a MONK. It's obvious that there IS a diffence between God-given talent, and that which you have to constantly beat your head against the wall to achieve, or rather perhaps never achieve, over a lifetime (as also shown in the movie Amadeus).
You could claim that Carl is the Imelda Marcos of pedals! : ^ )
...Carl is a rare bird, he's got all those chops and all that theory and it's still drenched in pure feeling all the way through, there's no algebra and no smoke & mirrors here! I always have to stop what I'm doing when he plays, and just... listen. "Ver Sure".
C'mon guitar players, surely I'm not the only one who notice all the nice pedals catagorized like shoes on a rack behind him. Pretty cool. Oh and the playing of course is awesome
Personally I like a lot of bass in my tone. And compared to jazz tones that was like nothing but yea I know, it's a strat and it should probably be a bit more trebly but that's just me.
Holy crap man, this is playing of the highest level.

Couldn't tell if he's doing tap or pinch harmonics. I'm wondering what his set up is like to get such ringing clarity with so no gain
bluescrusher 7 months ago
@bluescrusher It's just a vintage Strat thru a vintage Princeton Reverb. It's in his fingers.

@bluescrusher Neither...they're called harp harmonics. Check out lenny breau the master of harmonics and of course tommy emmanuel

this was recorded on a canon consumer-grade camcorder with a shotgun mic. I did not mic his amp.

@diminishedlogic sounded like maybe it was his pick attack on the string gave it that oomph sound

@diminishedlogic Naw, I LOVE that woof. It sounds amazing. I wish the recording wasn't clipping though but, as stratoman said, it was a crappy mic.
