  • no spotter on the floor press made me nervous :/ good job though!

  • weak sauce

  • Great video, I to was training olympic weightlifting style but now powerlift. Real strong

  • Hey man you must have hops! Do you know your vertical?

  • strong guy

  • Is there any specific reason why you did floor press, but not bench press in this video?

  • @MetaIhead89 well yes. The Floor press is better at improving Bench press than actual Bench press with some people!!! I went from 180 to 210kg BP with floor pressing alone.

  • @chezkenny so you wouldn't replace bench press completely with floor press, but just use it as a supplementary exercise?

  • @MetaIhead89 Yes you can definitely substitute bench press with floor press. Especially if your sticking point is at the bottom or a couple of inches from the chest!

  • nothing wrong with using straps.

  • Hang clean, clean, deadlift were good, but be a real man - ditch the straps!

  • @Zenith4165 True true!! I have to admit it

  • People really shouldn't talk about form unless they have video of themselves doing the exercises. When you go heavy your form is never as good as you think it is on video. Plus someone should point out that he's absolutely getting results and form is somewhat relative i'd say to how peoples bodies respond. Don't go out and hurt yourself but a little cheating is okay too.

  • pro man, love it, build a fort with it, keep the haters out. i just got to deadlift 500 and clean 225 against you im an ant lol

  • i get more activation in my hamstrings doing a deadlift when my legs are almost parallel to the floor and my hips are back. try it out.

  • bro you can fit a mac truck under your back way too much lower back arch....its not about just getting the weight up its about the quality of the lift....if you cant do it right dont do it. you are compromising the structural integrity of your body. your only hurting your self down the road. yes u can lift all the weight but your doing any possible way.

  • @illscrilla777 Thanks bro. You've just saved my life.

  • sorry that wasn't a romanian deadlift. pretty much a regular deadlift there buddy. way too much bend at the knees. defeats the purpose. hardly any stretch on the hams.

  • @dda030582 I'm tired of idiots who spend too much time discussing terms and not enough time puting it all into practice... A romanian deadlift isn't a straight leg deadlift... It's a full range, elevated deadlift with lower legs perpendicular to the ground. Now if you have an other definition good for you. But why do you quit wasting valuable web space and post a video of yourself doing it. That would be cute...

  • @chezkenny LMAO this mess had me dying, but ey good job bro keep it up

  • @chezkenny man what u're doing is dangerous, get a partner to help u out with those, mostly stuff like bench pressing

  • @22lesnar Yeah you're right but that's why I do floor press. If I fail I just lay the bar on the ground.

  • @chezkenny most impressive cleans. do u compete in olympic lifts? oh, about the floor press, if u put it down, can u get out from under it? i'll have 2 try it.

  • @secutorclaudius Thank you. I used to compete in O'lifts but I did only a couple of years. Now I train for powerlifting. Well yes normally you can get out from a missed floor press, that is if your belly isn't too large!! haha. Give it a shot with 135lbs.

  • are you in the US? i haven't seen such old school gym equipment since i was living in southeast poland

  • @jumar1281 Haha! I know. I'm in switzerland, it's a filthy rich country but the gyms are just like you said....

  • @chezkenny wut do u mean?I love this kind of gyms,I grew up near one and later worked out in one.

  • Way to arch your back on the floor press.. very bad.

  • @TeamGEAR360 u r suppose to arch ur back when ur do any chest press. Puts less stress on your shoulders and more on your chest which is what u want.

  • 3:32 hahhaha

  • Nice lifts, but do you have to look like such a huge faggot?

  • @zkyggen HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAAa!!

  • @zkyggen rofl

  • LOL nice! smart idea, using those huge blue matrice pads and supporters for heavier weight, our school has all metal weight, so we can drop it. Most of us dont really need to drop it though. Such a beast "Red Neck" idea/invention.

  • @LegendaryGoetz thank you! Yeah I don't really have all the exact equipment I need such as reverse hypers or ghr benches, but I try to make it up with little ideas like this!!

  • one more thing, how much do you weigh in these videos?

  • that is really impressive! are you a pro or just lift for fun? Have you ever injured your lower back from doing cleans w/ that much weight? your form looks crazy when doing those cleans

  • Bro! NO spotter in bench!!

  • check your form on those EVERYTHING

  • nice work dude, do you mind explaining the purpose of the floor presses?

  • @needabloodyname

Thanks. Well the first advantage of the floor press is that you break the eccentric/concentric chain begining from a deadstart. There is much less (myotatic) stretch reflex that helps going back up. Secondly you can isolate the sticking point. Mine is about 2in from the chest so I start right there and progessively eliminating it. This can be done from pins in a rack or with board press also. Third point is safety, in case of a missed lift, you'd just ease the bar to the floor.

  • What the hell do you do when you can't put the bar on a floor press you look like you'd be screwed

  • @xr3n3g4d3x Well it's to create a survival mechanism. Like the mother who's able to lift a car to get it off of her child stuck under it!!! Well not really... I just put the bar on the floor if I can't lift it...

  • @chezkenny LOL

  • wow. very impressive. Keep it up man. wish i had your genes. (:

  • @jjjie

Way to assume and way to cop out. Sorry, I'm not trying to be mean.

  • very strong lifts, and that technique for the power clean is not half as bad as most of the stuff ive seen on youtube, overall great lifts !!! good jobb keep it up

  • very strong lifts, and that technique for the power clean is not half as bad as most of the stuff ive seen on youtube, overall great lifts !!! good jobb keep it up

  • very strong lifts, and that technique for the power clean is not half as bad as most of the stuff ive seen on youtube, overall great lifts !!! good jobb keep it up

  • what is your nutrition like?

  • @cubencis it depends what I try to achieve. But in general I tend to eat pretty balanced, a little bit of everything with moderate amounts of carbs, 2-3 grams of protein per kilo of bodyweight. Not to mention, daily fruits, vegetables and good fat, unless it is a high carb meal, in which case I consume as little fat as possible.

  • Strong work, but those aren't really Romanian deadlifts. The RDL is a hamstring, glute, and low back exercise with minimal knee bend in order to reduce quad involvement. See the "assistance exercises" chapter of Starting Strength, 2nd edition by Rippetoe and Kilgore. This video shows a conventional deadlift that starts from the top.

  • @steveschnee Yes I definitely agree. It's just the name I give deadlift when they are elevated. Another key factor of the real romanian deadlift is to keep a neutral spine to allow the glutes to extend the hip efficiently. It's not a lift that I usually do, I prefer natural glute ham raises and reverse hypers myself.

  • @steveschnee

Are you sure you don't mean stiff legged deadlifts? Looks like a Romanian deadlift to me..

  • @Packetping Yes I'm sure. The purpose of the RDL is to concentrate on the hip extensors. Too much knee flexion makes it into a conventional deadlift.

  • kool

  • watta faggit

  • deadlifts are easy psychologically; that's why only olympic lifting is the true test of strength (No the "world's strongest man" is just to entertain kids; not a measure of strength because there is no fixed reference point -- the lifts change all the time

  • badass

  • one word: spot.

  • @7Rafe7 two words: shut up.

  • @jschrank534 fortunately you will meet the same predicted fate if you dont listen to my advise..

  • bad floor press

  • ridiculous power man, keep it up!

  • yes but it's ok, keep working at it, there is no reason why you couldn't get to 660lbs like me, since your technique is so great...

  • i said i was freshman, as in freshman in highschool.... and if u keep on using ur back, ur going to mess up ur back

  • You know the difference between metric and English measurements, right?

  • @muji8u ahahah im a freshmen too and i deadlift 325 rep

  • hes doing the deadlifts wrong, hes using his back more then his legs, hes barely using his legs....

  • haha

  • muji8u

Read the title of the video. These are Romanian dead lifts. It is a variation on standard dead lifts.

Yeah, this type of dead lift does put strain on your lower back, but that is what they are supposed to target. It's an advanced exercise for advanced lifters. This guy is clearly an advanced lifter whose strength and flexibility allow him to do very deep Romanian dead lifts with quite a lot of weight. So everybody calm down and quit dispensing advice to someone who doesn't need it

  • PUTTIN IT DOWN SON!

    well said btw.

  • @muji8u romanian deadlifts will do that haha

  • @muji8u well he did say hes doing romanian deadlifts

  • @muji8u

its just a different kinda of deadlift. romanian /straight leg deadlift. one that shudnt be used too often but its still a deadlift.

  • is that the song that's playing in your headphones in the video?

  • Actually sometimes it is! haha

  • i wouldn't use that weight belt man... your making you lower back real weak trust me

  • What do you push your abs onto if you don't wear a belt...?

  • @308ct you only need to wear a belt if you're using weight you're not used to or maxing out, otherwise you're right. you don't need a belt to just lift

  • What the hell how come the hang clean

on this vid bends their knees but at my

    skool we dont..hmm weird

  • to catch the weight? or at the start of the lift?

  • @chengy220

you are probly doing what is called high hang clean which only uses your shrug to start the bar up giving you time to drop under to catch it. catching the weight without ur legs bend would be kinda weird

  • i think he is doin the deadlift wrong. it is too low. wats worse is he did it on a higher platform. its should only be lowered in shin level between kneecap and ankles. correct me guys if im wrong.

  • no your rite its a hip extension....so once the the hips have stoped moving back as far as it can go u shud stop and come back up....otherwise you end up turning it in to a ?..................back extension.....not good for ya back....but every ones diff so.....

  • @truebolt

nah its just a different deadlift. straight leg/ romanian deadlift. it is bad for your back if you do it too much (like everything else in the world) but if you watch what you do and learn the lift correctly then he should be fine.

  • i dont use a spot for floor presses either but im a little nervous when i go super heavy any ideas i do them in a power rack but my arm go lower than the safety bars

  • you are pulling with your back, when doing that back-machine... What i mean is, your tossing back yourself, to pull the bars

  • nice deadlift there, should post up a vid of regular bench press and your 550 squat you said. how much you weigh?

  • Thank you. I have a video of bench press. Unfortunately didn't get the 550lbs squat on tape but I have a double at 538lbs somewhere I think. I'll post my new maxes as soon as possible anyways. Currently doing a phase of iso extreme.

  • I give ya props.. those are some heavy liftin'. One thing though, I don't care how much a person lift or how strong they are, spotters brotha... takes one wrong move to end what you have worked so hard for.

  • It's true, however there is virtually no risk on a floor press. If I couldn't have lifted it I'd just have eased it to the ground. Bench press is a different story I agree 100%. I prefer the squat rack myself.

  • lol @ the guy in the pink shirt on the stairmaster during benchpress

  • @dinosaur4 its a girl.

  • wow, really amazing!!! n1 :)

how long do u train to reach that?

and can u tell me whats the song name? i rly like it ^^

  • Great lifts! It looks like your timing is a little off on the RDL. Though you 'are' lifting a huge piss load of weight there. Good job! Keep it up.

  • wow thats crazy

that RDL was beast and the rest was crazy also

  • Chez, I noticed on the power hang cleans that the bar was slightly away from the body when you were bringing it to your shoulders. Is this perhaps why you stepped forward twice after you caught it on your shoulders? I'm thinking if the bar was closer to the body it would have looked a little bit better. Either way, nice lifts!

  • Nice points. I agree. My form was terrible because I hadn't done any PowerClean for over a year. I just thought I would do a test since I had improved my deadlift so much. And I hit an easy PR. Same the week after with the power snatch. Easy 120kg PR.

  • spotter?

  • you don't need a spotter with floor press, I'm not that big so if I miss I just ease the bar to the floor.

  • Thats sick. How much u squat?

  • I squat around 550lbs. Well it's my PR anyways.

  • it would be a good idea to get a spotter, but great vid.

  • When you know your limits and what not a spotter is not very necessary

  • accidents happen, elbows give out, bar slips. both have happened to me

  • spotters dont mean shit..just ask Stephen Johnson "RB" USC

  • spotter for what?...

  • he barely got tht one rep up

  • yes you don't really need a spotter for floor press. But I reccommend doing any PR in a squat rack if you're by yourself anyways.

  • Nice man. ;-)

    Keep it up ...

  • thank you!

  • what does PR stand for?

  • Personal Record or PB: Personal Best

  • thanx BRUGH!!! i knew it was personal something.

  • Yeah I've been in "they gym" Shannerc310 and I was also in your mother's asshole last night. Now look at your keyboard and read the keys aloud with your lips moving the way you do and try hard to find the caps lock key then turn it off, you sub-IQ retard.

  • CK, Be careful not to hypextend when you straighten on your RDL, go vertical and no more - your are leaning back too much at the end of the movement. Over time this can lead to bad back pain. Your form on cleans is good. About the floor presses, it's a good idea to have a spotter around when you are under challenging weight like that. Otherwise well done and keep lifting!

  • YOU EVER BEEN IN THE GYM BITCH DOUBT IT

  • beast.

  • are you on roids

  • very strong, but you seem to bend your knees too much for RDL

  • thanks. Well my definition of the RDL is not the knees flexion, it's the range of motion

  • im pretty sure he doesnt need a kid over youtube telling how to lift

  • who is the kid here? 17 years old?

    where are your lifting videos?

  • hey i think there was a fly on your 14th plate. might have done better without it on there.

  • i need help with my form in the RDL

  • Awesome strength and power bro...keep up the good work! 50 stars.

  • Well done!

  • those sparq tr elites are very good shoes for stability with their flat sole and good traction. i have a pair myself, very good for olympic lifts, squats, deadlifts, etc.

  • lol the lady in the corner at 0:38

  • dude ur a fucking beast haha

i just strted lifting for rdl im doin 135lbs and same for power clean i havnt done floor press annd im srtrn to do hang clean ;) fuck ya haha

  • Whats the differennce between Romanian & a regular deadlift??

  • To me romanian is full range with no reset between each rep, clean grip and little leg movement. But I'm sure each has their own definition.

  • all solid lifts. good job.

  • Thank you, it's not enough though

  • when i was learning how to do these, about a year and a half ago, i tore my index fingernail off

    haha

  • Ouch! That must be painful

  • no i didnt feel it

i got lucky, and it smashed my finger as it pulled the nail off so my finger went numb,

i didnt get all the feeling back untill about 2 weeks later

  • nice, good lifts, impressive

  • Thank you!

  • and shity music

  • Someone's trash is someone else's treasure...

  • Your butt lifted only slightly, and it really had no momentum impact. while it wouldn't be comp legal, I say it was a perfectly fine bench.

Y our RDL are insane btw.

  • I injured my shoulder snowboarding... This is killing me not hitting the gym! I hate it! So here I am watching you lift. lol

  • Very intense lifts! Although as you noted it seems like your technique suffered at those weights. Hope to see you handling more soon! Keep improving!

I particularly like the Hang Cleans, ever do hang clean with press I'd like to see that since I do those. I too find it hard to get a good clean while having good hip/knee bend.

  • I haven't done the full lift, clean and press or clean and jerk since I stopped competing. I do some power jerk or push press sometimes, I think I have it in another clip. It's a great exercise but now I have reduced my training volume greatly, so I stick to the basics.

  • intresting.

good power lifts then jumps on a mchine at the end.

    powerlifts to stick with dude

    great video!!

  • Yes the machine is just extra credit! Right I train only 4-10 working sets per workout. I will be doing this for awhile as I'm going to do a lot more conditionning and I tend to overtrain easily.

  • nice apt belt, get some more vids man they are very inspiring XD

  • Thank you! I love the apt equipements. The straps and belt are awesome.

  • Sweet - I like it when people don't fuck around with gizmo machines all the time. Olympic lifts are the thing that will bust anyone's buck.

  • Haha. Well some machines are ok, but there aren't the base of any serious training program imo.

  • Fucking tank

  • Thanks!

  • I don't like them at all, I'm in love with my barbell - just sometimes I get into a treesome with a bumbbell or a sandbag.

Just out of curiosity - how does your power clean stack up against your deadlift?

In my case I do PC with like 60-65% of my DL max...

  • My best deadlift is 300kg and clean from hang 160kg. So it's only about 55% but I rarely do any clean. Your ratio is better.

  • Hi Chezkenny,

Love your vids. You mnetioned you are cutting slowly, how long did it take you to lose 15lbs and do you do much cardio? what type? I've tried weight circuits but they seem to kill my power/speed. Also, is your diet low carb?

Many thanks and keep up the great work, it inspires the rest of us!

  • Thank you. I've been "cutting" for about 3 months. It's more of a permanent nutrition change than a diet. It's similar to the zone diet, high protein, moderate fat, and low carbs only from fruits vegetables. And potatoes sometimes.

I don't do cardio except for 10min warm-ups. I prefer high intensity drills with short rest for conditioning.

Beware the scale is not a good indicator of fat loss at all. I prefer measurements. My waist is down 4 inches and arms are about the same.

    good luck

  • Merci. Cool tes vidéos. Souplesse et vitesse! J'ai pas vraiment d'objectif précis. Je m'entraîne 5 fois par semaine là. Mais en général je fais 4.

  • i like the hang cleans.

but i have trouble with hang cleans (not the normal ones, the ones where you put it on the ground first and go up and do a clean in one motion, i forgot what it's called..) I miss the weight every freaking time!

i do weights for basketball and i do 4 reps with 120lbs, and i'm 14.

    plz help me?

  • Ok so you mean power cleans. To tell you the truth, it's better for basketball do start from the hang. Because that's really where the explosion starts! Like it does for a vertical jump. If you want to work your strength off the ground, do deadlift.

It's also good to do step-ups, squat with bands, sled resisted sprints and some plyometrics too to get quicker and jump higher. Work on your arms swing speed too, it really helps. Don't try to do all of this in one workout of course. good luck

  • believe me dude we do allll that stuff for conditioning.

and we started with just normal jump shrugs, then regular hang cleans, then dead lifts, and now were on the power cleans.

I've never had trouble with the first 3 and we've been doing it foreverrrrr.

and i can't just not do it cuz i have a personal trainer along with the rest of my team :)

  • what is your real job

ps you should train 4 the olympique

  • What happened to that sweet gym your other videos are in?

Is the Tendo Unit in the other Video yours?

  • Sweet? Oh no, it was very small, no girls allowed, always the same ol' people, and out of these only a couple who trained hard... well no motivation at all.

  • Yes it's a tendo unit. I just love to train with it. Makes dynamic training so much fun and more effective.

  • Man, you've packed on alot of size and strength.

    Good job!

  • thank you!

  • keep up the productivity! :)shame you don't have access to the oly gym anymore, i know how you feel the same thing happened to me (sorted now though!)

  • lol yes but it's ok, I'm more powerlifing oriented now anyways. My o'lift technique sucks.

  • good lifts still although i am surprised that you are using a machine to do rows. Great power nonetheless! Keep it up!

  • Thanks. Yes I think the machine is good sometimes. Especially when the lowerback is already tired. I use machines often.

  • Ah very true. Machines do have their place! Oh you seem to stay pretty ripped even with all the weight you put on. Great job!

  • thanks. Right now I'm cutting very slowly to not lose strength. I've already lost 15lbs and 5in on my waist. I need to lose a little bit more to have good abs, but I've done the hardest part. I look and feel better and I'm definitely more explosive than a couple month ago.

  • Crazy power. Your bench jumped a ton. Good deal.

  • Thank you.
