Before you ignorant morons comment on this, you should do a little research on who this is. He is one of the most innovative musicians around today. And buddy, ask your 7 year old son if he knows his father is ignorant and comments on youtube videos and says "LOL!" while he should be teaching him how to not grow up in the footsteps of his ignorant self. Fuck morons. Your the reason there will never be another Beatles.
There is NOTHING innovative about this. What you seem to be suggesting, is that the more out of key someone is able to play, the greater their genious. By your definition, tone deaf people could be considered to be of musical genious. Real musical genious comes from writing symphonies not by playing a monophonic instrument over a drone. You idiot!
Have you ever considered that you may have different view on music? Perhaps you're both right to a certain degree. While I agree that this is rather out to say the least. I have attended a clinic with Andrew D'angelo and can say first hand how talented he his. Don't base your judgement on this single video.
I await the first Andrew D'Angelo symphony. Seriously, I cannot take any Jazz musician as a genius. Improvisation over a pre-determined chord progression, is very different from improvisation complex fully orchestral music in your head. Paganini could do this, and well although I hate to say it... I can aswell.. ahahhahah
-5? I made a valid point apart from going off on one...
Composers are improvisors. They improvise everything, not just the melody. There is no talent invovled in this performance, despite the fact he is probably a very skilled musician. In life you realise that talent and skill are very different, and that is why musicians are just musicians not composers.

I don't think I have ever experienced this before.
For that it is good.
Some variation in the background (drone) might be nice.

RAAAH! I meant genius... not some other non-existant word.
Drumjunkie, if you call this man an 'innovative musician' you are opening yourself up to be regarded as a complete idiot.
